About this mod Machine translation

Adds a banking system to Skyrim, including loans, savings accounts, interest and (optional) banknotes.

Google's Imperial Bank

Google's Imperial Bank adds a banking system to the game, including loans, savings accounts, and banknotes. Access banking services by mentioning "Imperial Bank Services" to any court administrator in the game. Before accessing any premium features, you must first open an account (it's free).

savings account

Your savings account accrues 2% interest daily and will continue on all holdings. Deposits are free, but there is a 2% service fee for withdrawing funds.

loan

Loans can be taken out from any Jarl's steward and 5% interest accrues daily. The maximum loan amount is equal to 500 multiplied by the player's level. The entire loan amount (principal + any accumulated interest) must be repaid within 30 days, otherwise you will face 500 gold coins when the 30 days are up. Default does not prevent interest from accruing, so be sure to pay your loan on time! Loans can be paid to any Jarl's administrator in user-defined amounts.

PaperSeptims

Finally, the mod adds banknotes to the world. The new banknotes can be found throughout the game world as loot and quest rewards (I recommend using the Smashed Patch for maximum compatibility). These bills come in increments of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 respectively. When a conversation starts or the barter menu is opened, new notes are automatically converted to regular septims, so you can pay fines, rent, and buy paper items. They will be converted back after exiting the conversation or closing the barter menu.

currency exchange

You now have the option to convert coins and bills between currencies in any Jarl's housekeeper. This service is free and useful if you are using mods that increase the weight of your coins.

integral

I took a lot of inspiration, both conceptually and technically, from Imperial Mail and Immersive Currency. I based the scripts for this mod on those for these mods, and by exploring in the source code I managed to figure out how they work and design my own variations.

Google's Imperial Bank adds to the game a banking system complete with loans, a savings account, and paper currency. The banking services are accessed by mentioning "Imperial Bank Services" to any of the court stewards in the game. Before you access any of the advanced features, you must first open an account (free of charge).

Savings Account

Your savings account accumulates 2% interest compounded daily, and will persist across all holds. Depositing funds is free, however there is a 2% service charge to withdraw funds.

Loans

Loans can be taken out from any Jarl's steward, and accumulate 5% interest compounded daily. There is a maximum loan amount equal to 500 multiplied by the player's level. The entire loan amount (principal + any accumulated interest) must be paid back within 30 days or else you will face a 500 gold bounty in the hold you are in when the 30 days has ended. Defaulting does not stop the interest from accruing however, so make sure to pay your loan back on time! Loan payments can be made to any Jarl's steward in user-defined amounts.

Paper Septims

Finally the mod adds paper currency to the world. The new bank notes can be found throughout the game world as loot and quest rewards (I recommend using a Smashed Patch for maximum compatibility). The bills come in increments of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, and 1000 septims. The new notes automatically convert to regular septims when dialogue is started or the barter menu is opened so you can pay fines, rent rooms, and buy items with paper septims. Upon exiting dialogue or closing the barter menu they are converted back.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
