Glow SSE
Books you haven’t read yet will have a visible glow. When you first read it, its shine fades. All copies of the same title are considered the same book, so once you've read one "Cats of Skyrim," you've read them all.

About this mod Machine translation
Books you haven’t read yet will have a visible glow. When you first read it, its shine fades. All copies of the same title are considered the same book, so once you've read one "Cats of Skyrim," you've read them all.
I needed more space in the loading order so I converted it to ESL and thought I'd share it. The interface files have been packaged with this mod so they are readable by MCM.
All credit for this mod goes to original creator duggelz. Don't forget to support his mod here.

==Function==
*Unread books will glow and have "*" in front of their names
*Uses SKSE and SkyUI if installed, but they are not required
*Identify all books previously read by your character (SKSE)
*Track books for any mod or DLC
*Spell books are green, skill books are red, quest books and normal books are various blues
*Settings configured in-game via SkyUI or spells
==Installation==
Mod Manager: Click the "Download with Manager" button. Once downloaded, in the Mod Manager, click on the "Mods" tab and double-click on "Unread Books Glow" to activate it.
Several features of this mod will work better if you have SKSE 1.6.8 or higher installed. If you have SkyUI 3.1 or higher installed, you can access this mod's options using the Mod configuration menu. Both are highly recommended.
==Upgrade==
If you upgraded from a previous version, you may see strange behavior before entering the new location.
==Uninstall==
Move the character to an interior location with no unread books. Save your game and exit Skyrim.
Mod Manager: Click the "Mods" tab, double-click "Unread Books Glow" to deactivate it, then click "Remove."
==Limitations==
*If you don't have SKSE 1.6.8 or higher, books you read before installing this mod will not be recorded. You will have to read them again.
*Anywhere, only the most recent 100 books are affected.
*Books in containers and merchandise inventories are generally not considered unread.
*Quest books added by DLC and other mods are treated as "normal" books. Spell and skill books should work fine.
==Configuration==
If SkyUI is installed, press "Escape", click "Mod Configuration" and then click "Unread Books Glow". You will see a page with various options.
If you don't have SkyUI installed, open the in-game "Magic" menu, select "Powers" and then select "{Unread Books Glow Settings}". Then exit the menu. Your character appears to have a spell ready. Cast a spell normally (usually just click the left mouse button) and a settings menu will appear. It has fewer options than the SkyUI menu.
==Compatibility==
This mod should automatically handle books added by DLC and other mods. However, there may be conflicts with other patterns that change general book behavior. If you find something noteworthy that works or doesn't work, please let me know and I'll add it here.
compatible:
*Better skill and task book names
*Book Cover Skyrim
- Bookshelf Script SKSE
- Improved skill books
*Non-automatic skill books
*Read and learn speech technology talks
*Sometimes pick up a book
Maybe compatible with:
*Unlimited bookshelf (works for some, not others)
May not be compatible with:
- Deja Vu - I've read it
*Mark books as read
==Distribution==
This file is available on Skyrim and Steam Workshop.
==Translation==
This mod includes translations provided by various helpful people. You need to install SKSE and SkyUI to see translations. I won't use the old method of creating a multilingual Skyrim mode because it's too horrible. This means that the power for "{Unread Books Glow Settings}" will always be in English. Others may provide translated .esp files, in which case I'll link to them from here.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
