Frobbie's Windhelm Overhaul
I will simply say that this is my first mod and I thought I would take the time to make Windhelm look more Nordic. I felt like Windhelm didn't get much attention from the modding community, so I took it into my own hands. Presumably not much more will be done with this mod, people can use it however they want and just call it out.

Basically, I've used Windhelm's Skaal architecture to make the city more Nordic and snowy.
I also made the walls more lively by adding towers and roofs.
I added the towers of Whiterun to give the king's palace a more wooden feel while making the royal family look slightly older.
Also, I made a new area at the entrance of the arena, also an arena of my own design, although it's not very good, it can always be improved, which I may do in the future.
Also considering adding more NPCs to the new area. Currently empty.
The new area also includes a player home called "Thanes Hall".
There are some issues with compatibility with other mods that change the look of Windhelm, but I haven't found many issues yet, just a few minor ones.
There aren't any performance issues.
There is an issue with the door to the Temple of Talos, you need to use Tcl to open the door, don't know why.
Please note that in my images I'm using the following mods:
holiday
dawn in the sky
I also recommend using the Entrance Overhaul Windhelm and Windhelm Exteriors.
Hope you like my first mod.

I'll just leave it simple, this is my first mod and I thought I would use my time to make Windhelm look more, well nordic.
I feel like Windhelm hasn't gotten much attention from the modding community so I took it into my own hands.
Probably not gonna do much more with this mod, people are free to use it for theirs, just leave a shoutout.
Basicly I have used the Skaal buildings in Windhelm to make the city feel more Nordic, more snowier.
I have also made the wall alittle more alive by adding towers and roofs.
I made the palace of the kings more woody by adding a tower from Whiterun and also made the throne room a little less stale.
Also I made a new area with an entrance to the Arena, also my own design of the arena, thou it ain't that good, but feel free to improve it, I might do it later on.
Also thinking about adding more Npcs to the new area. it is currently empty.
The new area also includes a player home called "Thanes hall"
There is some issues with compability with other mods that change the exteriors of Windhelm, but I haven't found that many issues, only minor stuff clipping.
Haven't had any issues with performance.
There is an issue with the door to the temple of Talos, you need to use Tcl to open the door to it, don't know why.
Note that in my images I'am using the following mods:
Holidays
Dawn of Skyrim
I also recommend using Entrances overhaul Windhelm and Windhelm Exteriors.
Hope you Enjoy my first mod.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
