I didn't create this mod. All I did was port it from the Oldrim version. Before you ask, yes, I had the author's permission. The original mod is here. So please give GroonCz all the endorsements and accolades.

Fort Dawnguard Improvement Mod is loaded into CK and run via LOOT. I tested it extensively in games. Meaning, I'm running around making sure everything is in order, there aren't weird glitches, there aren't crashes, etc. I have zero issues. So if you encounter a problem, be absolutely sure this mod is causing it before it screams, "BUG!"

Also, I have one little thing to edit. The original mod author accidentally placed a quest item in the fortress. Normally I don't care, but items can be picked up. So I deleted it.

Install:

There are conflicting statements about when to load this mod. Before Dawnguard. After Dawnguard. During Kwanzaza. On Kathy Griffin's birthday, sacrifice a goat to the Archdemon. I installed it right after the first Dawnguard mission and it worked fine.

But what you should do is the following:

*Be sure to install the DLC (ugh!)

*Get everything you need inside Vanilla Castle. There is no guarantee you will have the same items you need/want after installing the mod.

*Exit Fort Dawguard.

*Make a new save.

*Exit the game and download the mod from one of two ways:

Automatic: Download directly to whatever Mod Manager you are using and installed.

Manual: Download, unzip, go to the main S.S.E. folder and place the unzipped files in the Data folder. Or download the mod and drag the zipped folder into the Mod Manager of your choice.

Load the game. Enter Dawnguard. Loads into the Bastion may take longer than normal for newly added assets to be loaded into the cells. I highly recommend poking around and making sure there are no issues. Once you've established that there's no problem, do a happy dance; for Fort Dawnguard, it doesn't look like a hole that a two-cent whore would even live in.

compatibility:

If you have another mod installed that changes the internals of Fort Dawnguard, then it will cause problems. Other than that it should be fine.

OMG! I found a bug. Fix it! Fix it now!!!

(sigh) If there's a bug, make sure it's the mod causing it. Then pull up your big boy/girl/giraffe pants and try to figure it out yourself. If you still encounter problems, please report it. I can't guarantee I'll be able to fix it since I edit a lot of cells.
