The nasty Foglings are undead goblin-like creatures, naturally vampires. They were part of a band of young vampires who traveled through time, serving the higher students and Morag Bal himself in that ancient realm and beyond Nirn. They're not particularly smart, and they seem to lack the skills to properly handle vampire powers. The proof can be seen just by observing their behavior. Despite being vampires, they can be seen burning their skin during the day, but they remain outside and they just mutilate themselves with their claws in an attempt to stop the pain on their skin, which is barely burned by the sun. As a result, Foglings have huge holes in their abdomens and chests, and some of their internal organs have simply been torn off by themselves, with only a few of them now remaining. Another proof of their inability to deal with the pros and cons of vampires is that they also don't seem to be able to properly utilize invisibility. Lacking magical abilities, they cast some kind of permanent semi-invisibility spell on themselves, leaving them permanently in a semi-ethereal state. Therefore, they cannot properly take advantage of a well-cast vampire invisibility spell, but the permanent half-ether physical state makes them 50% resistant to all types of damage.
Despite all the disadvantages, they are extremely well adapted as they use the permanent fog around them to ambush their victims. Nords tell you that seeing a yellow light in the swamp or woods does not mean fireflies, so you have to run from there as fast as you can because that is the eye of the mist and has seen you too.
Used as minions by other types of vampires, you can see them roaming Coldharbour, Soul Cairn, and vampire lairs. Some were seen living near the Hargrefins on the river.
Scholars know little about Foglings because it is impossible to attack them without risk, and because it is impossible to deal with their vampire masters. But a large portion of them believe that the Mists are just goblins who contracted the Sanguinaris Vampiris, or another form of vampirism, and became immortal, much like how humans become vampires. However, since goblins are only simple-minded creatures, they cannot become the true masters of vampires, but can only be self-mutilating crazy beasts who exist permanently in a heretical state of magic. The creature's poor life and their absolute lack of skill with vampiric powers and traits would seem to bear out this statement. But there is no evidence that they are merely theories.

The pesky Foglings are undead goblin-like creatures, vampiric in nature. They belong to the lesser vampire ranks that roam across Coldharbour, serving the Higher Ones and Molag Bal himself, on that daedric realm and outside it on Nirn. Not specially smart, they seem to lack the skills to deal with the powers of vampirism properly. Proves of that can be seen simply looking at their behavior. Despite being vampire, they can be seen outside at day, what burns their skin, but they remain outside and they simply self-mutilate themselves with their claws trying to stop the pain of their skin being hardly burned by the sunlight. Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
