SE version of FIO features better visuals and script and plugin cleanup
describe:
As quoted by the original author of this version of LE:
"Light CR on fire"
"...and then make your own squid egg"
-ApolloDown
feature:
Flames from spells and explosions can ignite and spread fire
The fire generated will damage players, but not NPCs (unless hostile)
Frost spells (except frostbite) leave stackable ice blocks behind
The resulting ice blocks collide and can be used to block paths or create structures.
Integrated Arctic 3D mesh to protect against frostbite
Spells of the opposite element can be used to remove the resulting effects (fire spells "melt" ice and frost spells "extinguish" fire)
MCM menu with switch to disable fire and/or ice effect generation
Installation/uninstallation:
Install using your preferred mod manager or extract the mod contents into your data folder.
Use Mod Manager to uninstall or delete mod content from your data folder.
compatibility:
Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition patch (fully compatible - changes forwarded)
Deadly Spell Blast (fully compatible - changes forwarded)
Arctic - Frost Effect Redux (fully compatible - recommended for visual consistency)
Inferno-Fire Effects Redux (full compatibility - recommended for visual consistency)
Audio overhaul for Skyrim SE (fully compatible - patches available)
Immersive Sound - Compendium (fully compatible - patches available)
Notice:
This mod's scripting can still become very intensive depending on what effects you have in the game, as well as the potential for harmful long-term effects such as the potential for security bloating. I recommend using the current version of this mod only for testing purposes and where you don't get obsessed when saving. Future plans include a complete overhaul of the mod from the ground up to provide fully proper support for all related bugs and issues.

The scripts from this mod can still become fairly intensive depending on how much effects you spawn in game and detrimental long term effects such as the potential to cause safe bloating have not been determined yet. I'd recommend only using the current iteration of this mod for testing purposes and on saves you do not feel attachment to. Future plans include full remake of the mod from the ground up in order to provide complete proper support on any related bugs and issues.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
