Bugs fixed, lag eliminated, and crashes eliminated with original Tamriel beasts and more!

Some info/what led me to make this patch:

Beasts of Tamriel is one of the best creature mods I've ever used. Expect. Numerous diverse and interesting creatures from The Elder Scrolls lore, games, and more are dropped into Skyrim. Unfortunately, this mod is also riddled with bugs and hasn't been updated in a while. On the Beasts of Tamriel mod page, someone reported crashes near Washem Tower/Ritual Stone and Guilmund Hall when approaching these areas. I personally visited these locations and this is indeed the case. So all I had to do was go into SSEEdit, delete the records for changing Guldun Rock and Shroud Hearth Barrow, and thankfully delete the (worst) CTD. I have solved all the problems myself for a while and now share them with you.

As of version 3.0, and after very thorough testing, I now can't seem to get crashes or lag in any area. But I did stumble upon a mod incompatibility that will be described further below.

Before installation:

Obviously, make sure you've downloaded Tamriel's Beasts, but also make sure you have all of Tamriels' Beasts files, whether they're the .bsa version or the loose file version. Don't use both versions, only one.

Installation - Using Mod Manager:

If you are using Mod Organizer, download and install the mod as normal. If it asks you to cover anything, say "yes" or "agree to all." Also making sure the "orc's beast" original file is intact and that my file overwrites the esp and included textures. I really don't recommend using NMM with the BSA version as I don't know what will change when using the Less Crash-Prone Beasts of Tamriel as version 3.0 now also includes some BC7 converted textures.

If using Mod Organizer/Mod Organizer 2, you can rename Tamriel's Less Crash-Prone Beasts to the installation name of the original mod you named it and then "merge" the two, or you can rename Tamriel's Less Crash-Prone Beasts to just install a separate mod then and there. Made sure that "Beasts of Tamriel" is lower than "Beasts of Tamriel" on the left side of the load order in MO2 so that my file overwrites the original. The ESP should have been replaced, so don't worry about the ESP on the right.

I can't help Vortex or Wrye Bash users because I don't know how these 2 mod managers work. I'm afraid you are alone. :(

Installation instructions:

Download the mod manually as you normally would, then drag and drop its contents from the zip file into the Data folder. Make sure my file overwrites the original file.

compatibility:

Wintersun: Compatible.

Skyrim Reborn Whiterun Hold: Compatible.

Temple of Skyrim - Immersive Fast Travel: Compatible after version 3.0

The dragon shouted with his voice: Semi-compatible, as the Rocs now recite Thu'um.

Chatty Dragon: Semi-compatible, as Rocs now talk like dragons in combat.

Ultimate Dragon: Incompatible because it messes with the Rocs added by BoT.

Any mod that heavily edits areas edited by Tamriel beasts.

Final words:

If you find any other information related to the crash caused by Tamriel's beast, please let me know and I will do it. I know more about Creation Kit in 2019 as well as xEdit so I will try to make more advanced changes, especially since Ru5tyShackleFord allows me to do so.

Version 3.0 Found: The BoT itself is not an issue, but I found the mod to be incompatible, removing the Ice Atronach in Chill and every Kopr Seal in the game. I don't know which mod does this, but if you find this mysterious mod or any mod that does something similar, please let me know and I'll look into it.

Download Beasts of Tamriel here and be sure to give this mod a thumbs up as the original creators did such a great job they have nothing but praise!

Future plans to reduce the number of crash beasts in Tamriel:

High priority:

-Added more Rocs to The Reach, which according to recent rumors (planned for version 4.0) is inhabited by large predatory birds, according to Ru5tyShackleF …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
