Like many other towns in Skyrim, NPCs have been doubled down on housing, or given no support at all, and take up inn space forever. Falkreath is already quite large and space is limited, but there is enough space to provide housing for Kust and Valdr who are not occupied by anything other than trees in the city.

Installation requirements

Skyrim Special Edition 1.5.53 or higher.

Do not extract the contents of the BSA file into the Data folder as loose files, or have the mod manager perform an equivalent function on the file contents. Doing this will cause things to load in the wrong order and break the game. Skyrim is designed to load BSA as well as its ESM/ESP files. Bypassing this will cause issues that I won't provide support for. If you persist in opposing this suggestion, you will not be supported by the problems that will arise from it.

Installation - Wrye Bash BAIN

Drag and drop the archive into the Skyrim Special Edition Mods\Bash Installers folder and install as usual.

Make sure the mod is active in the Wrye Bash mods tab.

Installation - Mod Manager/Vortex

Use the "Download with Manager" button on the Skyrim page. The installer should take care of things from there.

Then just make sure it has the mod activated.

Installation manual

Place the Falkreath.esp and Falkreath.bsa files into the Data folder.

Activate the mod using the management tool that works for you.

uninstall

Due to the nature of Skyrim mods, especially those that add scripts, it is strongly recommended not to attempt to uninstall mods from the active game. Any mod that is more than a pure mesh or texture replacement risks leaving permanent changes on your save that you may not want. This is not something modders can correct. This is how Bethesda designs its games. Support will not be provided for anyone who uninstalls this mod from the active game and continues on that save.

To remove the mod: Delete the Falkreath.esp and Falkreath.bsa files from the Data folder. Then reload your game as usual.

Load order

LOOT should be used for optimal placement.

Must be loaded after Immersive Citizens to maintain navmesh integrity within the city.

You must also load it after Clockwork, or clear the Clockwork.esp file for stray navmesh edits.

Like so many other towns in Skyrim, NPCs have been doubled up in housing or simply not given any at all and occupy space at the inn forever. Falkreath is already fairly large and space is limited, but there was enough available to provide homes for Kust and Valdr in a part of the city that wasn't occupied by anything other than trees.
