Falkreath Haunted House

Several highly dynamic haunting styles have been added throughout Falkreath Hold to add some spookiness to your skyline this Halloween. - Ghost Forest - Lady Ilinalta - Ghosts of Falkreath Cemetery

To get you all in the Halloween spirit, I've added several creepy encounters to Falkreath Hold: two dynamic boss-style battles, passive ghosts in the Falkreath graveyard at night (with a small quest to release their souls), and several unique rewards.

Ghost in the forest

"Do not enter the woods after dark, traveler, lest you leave them forever..."

Local legend tells of a shadowy spriggan that roams Falkreath Forest, emerging from the trees and then disappearing back like a ghost. During the day, the ghostly Tiger Woods will just scare you. But if it stumbles upon you after dark...

How can you defeat a beast that disappears the moment it's hit?

Lady Ilinata

"The Lady of the Lake is now a spirit I hope to never see."

Scholars disagree about the haunting nature of Lake Ilinata, but only the stupidest would dispute the fact that danger exists there. Some believe its roots lie in the deaths of hundreds of Imperial soldiers who once occupied Fort Ilinalta. Others claim the phenomenon is much older than the fort itself. Regardless, it is said that terrifying apparitions appear on the lake at night and mysterious voices of will dance on its shores. Superstition claims that any traveler foolish enough to follow these wisps will fall into the Lady's Ice.

Ghosts of Falkreath Cemetery

"They say these ghosts roaming our cemeteries at night are harmless, just lost souls...but I think I'll keep my distance."

In recent years, Falkreath's cemetery has been haunted by the restless spirits of the deceased. Some people claim to recognize their friends and family in the apparitions. No one knows how to free these spirits, but a keen eye may notice the strange iconography hidden around the city... Could these items bind souls to Tamriel?

Each encounter brings a unique reward: a magic spell with too many eyes and legs, a powerful frost spell, and even a spooky Halloween mask!

Each night one of three apparitions appears at Falkreath Cemetery. They are passive and mostly aesthetic. If you choose to free them, first search the town for its portrait. They lay along the edge of the house, but were small and hard to see. You just need to find one, and then a mission will start with markers pointing to the other two. After you find all the portraits, a ghost will appear and guide you to your next destination. It's a long journey, so you may want to wait a few hours and fast travel instead of following the ghost. But be warned: the creator of the portrait will not go down without a fight.

Lady Ilinata:

In order to face Lady Ilinalta, you must find and follow one of her strands. You can find small bunches on the southern shore of Lake Ilinalta. Get ready to fight.

ghost:

Specter o'the Woods occupies a large territory in the forest west of Falkreath. If you wander around, you'll probably see it pretty quickly. It's a formidable opponent, so it might be wise to explore the woods during the day. At night, the ghost will attack when you get close to it (or it gets close to you).

All battles should scale with player level, from a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 80.

No creature is reborn.

Lady and Specter are script-intensive encounters, but their scripts won't run when you don't encounter them, and they will be deactivated when you kill the corresponding creature.

Install:

Use a mod manager or install manually. Enable the file ogFalkreathHauntings.esp and place it at the bottom of the load order.

If you want to uninstall, please revert to save before installing this mod.

conflict:

Any mods editing the same area are likely to conflict.

If a mod edited the same navigation around Lake Ilinalta, it might prevent you from encountering Lady Ilinalta.
