information
A simple fix that allows the player's eyes to receive shadows and look more realistic.
notes
I was trying to capture some screenshots and this issue started to really annoy me. After some digging, I discovered that eyes and eyelashes share the same object. Therefore, this forces the eye itself to share the same transparency properties as the eyelashes. This mod changes the transparency property of the eye object to enable it to receive shadows and keep the shadows transparent at the same time, allowing the eyelashes to work.
The downside is that the lashes now look a bit shorter as the transparency is slightly less precise, but that's a small price to pay in my opinion.
I could be wrong, but unfortunately this fix only works for the player, as my understanding is that all NPCs save their transparency in a .tri file somewhere, and it is unique to every NPC in the game.
compatibility
Compatible with any mod.nif file that does not change the eyes, for example:
Improve eyes horizon
Beauty SSE eyes
Natural Eyes SSE
Eye normal map fix SSE
Not compatible with any mod that alters the eye .nif file, such as:
Ultimate Eye Meshes Ruhmastered SSE for Skyrim with Bijin support
integral
Bethesda makes it all possible

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
