  • What does the mod add?

================================================== ===================

In the Overlord light novel, the protagonist has access to a box called a "Exchange Box" (more info here) which can convert any item placed by the character into gold coins, and that's exactly what this mod attempts to add to Skyrim by adding a new term called "Conjure Exchange Box".

This spell will open a chest called the "Exchange Box" where you can place any item you want (except gold coins of course), and when you close it all the equivalent value in gold will be added to your inventory. However, there are two catches:

Only the basic value of the item is considered, like that found in Overlord ("For example, a detailed stone statue, the exchange box will ignore any craftsmanship and calculate its value to be equal to the same weight of a stone. In other words, it will not judge the shape, historical and artistic value of the item"). This means that enchantments don't matter when evaluating items.

You will be notified at the beginning of the discount you will receive on the item (i.e. you will not receive the base value of the item). The formula used to calculate an item's value is exactly the same one used by vendors, and takes into account your voice skills and whether you have any rankings on Haggling (see more about the Sell Factor formula here).

For someone roleplaying as a mage, this would be a very useful utility spell without having to summon a merchant.

Will this be up to par with my presentation skills? By default, no, I disable it. However, you can enable it by writing 1 in the console set aaaSpeechExchangeBox (everything is in bold). This way, when you convert your items, you'll have the same experience as when selling to your supplier.

Where can I find this spell?

The spellbook is implemented in a way that replicates how spelled versions of bound swords appear in the game. This means:

Phinis Gestor sells this spell at the Academy of Winterhold after the Dragonborn reaches Conjuration level 25.

Any court wizard in Skyrim's major cities.

Can be found in random chests.

Sometimes found on Draugr.

Can be found on random enemy mages.

Since this involves editing some horizontal project lists, don't forget to update your Bash patch (see how to do that here). If you don't have Bash Patch, you should know about it because it's important (for one simple reason)

3.Installation

================================================== ===================

First method: NMM/Other Mod Manager (recommended)

  • Use Mod Manager to download and install, simple and clean.
  • After the installation is complete, use LOOT to automatically sort the loading orders. If you are using NMM then close it and run LOOT, this will ensure your game runs properly.

Second method: Manual (not recommended)

  • Download the file manually.
  • Extract the contents of the mod's zip file to the "Data" folder within the Skyrim folder.
  • Activate the mod in Skyrim.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
