Hey this is something I did for myself because I was tired of looking at plain old Windows folders sorting my Skyrim files and thought I'd share Guy's with you... So in the first part of ECI there are 18 customized folders and we have 3 styles of icons -
- Shadow - (Place shadow bottom on the right side of the folder)
- Glass - (clear glass panel placed at the bottom of the corner)
- Black glass - (lower right corner of black glass panel)
So together there are 54 different custom icons for you to add to your Skyrim folder
There will be more styles and varieties on top of the regular and will be accepting requests if you have any!
(I'll open a thread in the comments section)...Install...
- Right click on the desired folder click "Properties"
- Select the Custom tab {far right}
- Select the "Change Icon" button
- Then click the "Browse" button
- Then find the ICO file you want to replace
- Click OK then Apply to refresh and get your new custom Skyrim icon

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
