The spell works as follows: casting it near a map marker creates a portal to that location in an overworld, casting it again, or casting it far away from any map marker teleports you to that otherworld, where you can travel through any previously created portals. These portals relate to each other as if they were 1:10 miniatures of Skyrim. Also works with Solstheim and any new lands added by mods with map markers. Portals can be removed by activating them while sneaking.

Please note that Solstheim or mod lands portals will not appear at the same time as Skyrim portals and vice versa. You can still use the spell to travel from Skyrim to Solstheim, provided you go to the edge of the map and create a portal for the map marker, in Solstheim you may need to use tcl since the Skyrim marker is in the sea. Small vanilla world spaces in Skyrim (such as cities) will appear alongside regular Skyrim map markers.

Once installed, the diary will be added to your inventory, please read on to continue.

Note that the first spell you get is quest-related, and the last spell is acquired once you get out of the situation. Containers in the perforated area are safe.

This is a Beta version, so if you find bugs please report them.

Surprisingly, this is not difficult to do at all.

v. 1.0.1 - Fixed sticky music issue. Start over in Skyrim or enter and exit the Ethereal Realm to get away from the music. Please report if you still have issues with when music should/shouldn't be playing.

Version 1.0.2 - Added the ability to delete portals. Dive in and activate to remove it. Please note that while portals created with previous versions can be deleted, they may not be re-created later, so if this feature is important to you it may be safer to uninstall, make a new save and reinstall.

v. 1.0.3 - The first part of the mission has been removed due to frequent radiation issues that prevented the mission from starting. The diary will now be added directly to the player's inventory. Sorry if it breaks the immersion.

v. 1.0.4 - Fixed a smaller but still critical bug where the second log fell off the shelf and became unobtainable.

v. 1.0.5-1.0.6 - Fixed issue with tasks not stopping. "setobjectivedisplayed mzteleportspelladder 0 0" also works.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
