Ether Traveler

An overhaul with many changes to perks, exploration, worship, food, and more. Draw power from the power of Ethereum or the Forgotten. Also included is an optional Snow Elf add-on.

Aetherial Traveler is an overhaul of Skyrim designed to create a smoother, more fun adventure. It offers many changes to character customization and growth, loot, food, and more.

See the "Readme" section for details about installation, compatibility, reputation, permissions and thanks.

This mod makes many significant changes to the game. However, some basic patches are included in the installer.

Ethereal Elf overhaul. You'll also need SSE's Ethereal Elf overhaul patch. Note that for this method to work, you will need to patch the original Ethereal Elven overhaul for Skyrim Special Edition by following the instructions in the second link. If you don't do this, the original old texture will cause the game to crash.

Patches for USSEP and Bruma can be found in optional files.

These types of mods can be used directly or with minimal setup:

Combat overhaul.

Character appearance modifications, as long as they do not change racial form or specific NPCs.

Vampire and werewolf mods. (These will override the vampire and werewolf perks of AT. You can disable the passive experience gains for these forms of AT in Options.)

Mods that can add more beautiful textures, water, weather, sky, plants and wildlife to Skyrim.

Mods that add new weapons or armor to crafting. (The vanilla forging perks are mostly intact, with some splitting between Steel and Imperial, Elven and Chitin, Steel and Bonemold, and Advanced and other perks. Mods that require Advanced Smithing to craft will still work, as Advanced Smithing automatically unlocks Steel Smithing when learned.)

Most new spell and enchantment mods. (see below.)

Mods that add new items via tier lists, but you'll need to use Wrye Bash to patch them.

The following types of mods may require patches, otherwise partial incompatibilities will occur.

The weather module adds new aurora weather. (Nothing bad will happen, but the Aetherial Traveler's Aetherial Light perk won't notice when a new Aurora appears without a patch.)

Mods that modify racial forms.

Magic and enchantment mods, depending on the effect. (Nothing bad will happen, but some perks of this mod may not recognize the spell.)

Major handcrafted overhaul.

Food modifications.

Mods that are also overhauled may not be fully compatible with the Aetherial Traveler part.

Better Vampires and Falmer add-ons are not compatible. Partial compatibility is achieved by installing and loading Better Vampire after the Falmer add-on and allowing Better Vampire to override the script. Later you will need to use the console to convert it to a vampire (AT_FalmerRaceVampire) and then to (AT_FalmerRace). According to the author of Better Vampires, you may still be incompatible with your vampire lord.

Character customization
