About this mod Machine translation
My own updated list including modding instructions and custom patches.
Skyrim Enhanced is a modlist designed to improve role-playing and immersion while generally retaining the feel of vanilla. I made it for my own game and as usual I'll share it with the community if anyone likes it or even just enjoys reading it. It doesn't claim to be the best blacksm - a complete guide of any kind - I don't have access to tools like modding tools and there are better tutorials out there than I could write. However, it comes with a lot of notes, tweaks, and custom patches to fix some issues. This can come in handy if you like even just a few of these mods.
What's going on?
In addition to the inevitable tweaks and fixes and a nice collection of visual modules, I'm also focusing on:
-Mods that improve and restore existing content to provide more depth to the game in a seamless way
- Subtle gameplay overhaul
- More options to improve RP and avoid railing: do what your character would do, not the only option available
- Various small immersive mods including...
-...basic needs mechanics - no "survival mini-game", I just want the environment to make sense and for people to behave like humans
-The best followers and companions on your journey
-A few extra missions that I think are better suited to the original game (see below)
What does *not* mean?
-Large quest mods that take you out of Skyrim and/or become the main focus of the adventure: there's no shortage of great quests, but after a while I just want to play Skyrim again, which is why I ended up on this list
-Stubborn Mode of Doom - I'm pretty good at getting killed no matter what, I don't need any mode to help
-Mods that make Skyrim more like Dark Souls/Zelda/Resident Evil/Pac-Man (because I actually want to play Skyrim)
- Full review of every aspect of the game: sometimes I realize I just prefer the vanilla option
-NSFW mods (although I still don’t want to play Skyrim at work ^^)
- NPC replacements that make everyone beautiful and perfect
Why are you doing this?
Well, after I spent some time making a custom patch and writing down how-tos I might need in the future, I thought I'd share them as well. I also love writing lists.
Okay, let's say I like it the most, but should I download all mods?
Not really, what a custom patch needs to be is specifically tagged, everything else is up to you. Although, some mods may depend on each other, and some instructions are written with each other's compatibility in mind, so please be aware of this. I've also included some information on the custom patch functionality, which you can provide if you want to edit it or would rather use your own patch for different mod combinations.
performance?
The performance of the vanilla laptop I use is questionable, so I can't offer any advice on the ideal settings for excellent smoothness - however, I can tell you that it won't kill your spuds. If you're on a low-end PC, you should certainly select the "Performance" option whenever possible - almost every major texture I've listed has some. ENB is still the most demanding feature, but you can make a lot of improvements by disabling ambient occlusion and possibly other effects. On the other hand, if you have a good gaming PC... choose the best visual option and enjoy your leisure time!
Waba?
No, sorry, it's too much work (I'm an individual gamer/modder whose time and focus is very variable, not a dedicated team)
So what about the actual list?
here we go! I've listed all mods and their optional files, along with some comments if needed. Installation and configuration annotations are optional when they are merely suggestions based on subjective preference; their use is strongly recommended if required or for compatibility reasons. If no instructions are given, it means you can choose whatever you like (e.g. why should I tell you what color your chicken should be?). Again, when different resolutions are available, choose based on your performance needs and locatio …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
