About this mod Machine translation

A simple feature that allows you to temporarily gain weight at the expense of lowering your maximum endurance.

5000/5000 character limit: 5000 Continue translation (5000 characters can also be translated) Overview

This mod increases Fortify's carrying weight and stamina. If you activate it while busy, it will increase your carry weight, allowing you to no longer carry as much (you can run, fast travel, or sprint - if you have stamina left). As a result, it reduces your maximum endurance pool and increases the amount of weight you can carry. This should be a temporary help when you are overly busy and want to quickly reach your home/nearest city to store all those things or sell them.

I don't really care about the balance of this mod, so I put it in the cheat category, just in case. Basically, it's player.modav carrying weight console commands, with a few more steps.

This is my first mod that contains magic effects. I've tried to test as thoroughly as possible. However, if you decide to try out this mod, I recommend backing up your saves. There are many situations involved when writing a script. If you find any bugs, please let me know in the "Bugs" tab and I'll try to fix it.

Other options and cases

This feature will always try to increase your carry weight to a level where you are no longer overburdened. This happens when you don't have enough maximum stamina.

In this case you'll only get a boost equal to your max stamina, and while you can carry more power, you'll still be tied down (some boost can be turned off via a global variable).

There is also an unlimited (cheat) mode: if your maximum stamina is lower than the required enhancement, it will simply reduce the maximum stamina to 0 and apply the full enhancement (you can turn on unlimited mode via a global variable).

Reapply effects

Reactivating power when you are already affected may cause one of the following:

Reapply with larger effect - if you get stuck again and the config allows for this (you have enough stamina left/unrestricted mode on/partial boost on),

Turn off the effect completely - if your current inventory weight is equal to or less than the initial incoming weight,

Do nothing - in all other cases.

Each time the power is activated, you will be notified about what happened (notifications can be turned off via a global variable).

Turn off the effect completely

Power on when your current stock weight is equal to or less than your original, carry-on weight. If you have notifications, you will receive stamina notifications and carrying weight returns to normal.

Use case?

The way this mod works may seem weird, and I realize this won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I made it myself and in the hope that others may find it useful, I'm sharing it. I'm playing an adventurous character (who doesn't). I'm leaving a heavy dungeon, and I want to get somewhere quickly to unload all the loot, with no intention of engaging in combat. That's when I powered up, which I really didn't mind and didn't have any stamina for the moment.

I may have made the idea a little complicated, but I want the mod to be as flexible as possible. Below are examples of different scenarios describing the results when powering on. I left this in spoiler tags because for some reason it looks really scary and complicated

technical details

The only way I have access to the actor's value is through the ModActorValue() method. I don't override these values or set them to arbitrary values. Just add or subtract them. I only consider max base stamina to avoid the potential error that max stamina may end up reaching a value below 0 if some temporary buffs are activated while powering up.

Important: All required actor values are remembered in the properties of the running task. Once powered on, do not stop the task manually (for example, using console commands). (Not sure why I did this, but I left this warning just in case.)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
