About this mod Machine translation

A mod that modifies the appearance of vanilla Skyrim SE dragons, making them look more striking and fierce. The current version only modifies non-DLC dragons, excluding Alduin + Paarthurnax.

Regal Dragons for SE is a mod that adds new HD textures to vanilla (temporarily non-DLC) dragons. As of now, this mod does not affect Alduin or Paarthurnax, although they are planned for the future.

This mod is aimed at those who find vanilla's texture bland and lacking in color and any kind of discernible design. Regal Dragons aims to solve this problem, making dragons more pleasing to the eye and overall more terrifying creatures; the true bane of North since ancient times.

Warning: At this time, it is recommended to only download this mod manually. The installation process is currently not working.

This mod is still very early access and some content may be missed. Still, it works well, but aside from a redesign of Vanilla Dragon, it's not technology yet. As mentioned, future updates are planned.

Install

-Download + unpack regaldragons.zip

  • Place all .dds files into path: D:\Steam_Downloads\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\textures\actors\dragon

This will overwrite any other dragon retexture mod you have installed.

Uninstall/restore to any other dragon retexture mod from this one: Reinstall said mod with Vortex. It will overwrite Regal Dragons' files.

Feedback is welcomed and appreciated. This is my first working model and I want to make sure it works for everyone. Please report any issues you encounter with this mod during gameplay.

Regal Dragons for SE is a mod that adds new HD textures to the vanilla (temporarily non-DLC) dragons. As of now, this mod does not affect Alduin or Paarthurnax, though they will be planned in the future.

This mod is directed towards those who find the vanilla textures to be bland and boring, lacking color and distinguishable designs of any sort. Regal Dragons is aimed to fix that, making the dragons more pleasing to the eye and overall more fearsome creatures; the true banes of the Nords from the days of old.

WARNING: For now, it is recommended that this mod is only MANUALLY downloaded. The installation process currently does not work.

This mod is still very much early access and may be missing some contents. It functions well nonetheless, but it is currently not that technical besides retexturing the vanilla dragons. As stated before, updates are planned for the future.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
