Unofficial Moonpath for Elsweyr Patch

Moonpath to Elsweyr is a very old mod from Muppetpuppet that is close to a lot of people's hearts, myself included. It has been updated sporadically over the years and ported to SE by the talented Iliani, who maintained it for a while but now seems to have retired from modding. However, it still has some minor issues that this patch aims to address.

All in all, this patch implements a ton of typographic fixes, nailing Mervar in the correct position in front of the Tenmar Den entrance, correctly classifying Rivercrab Meat as food, tidying up some NPC dialogue trees, and removing a couple of "Quill of Gemination"--a vanilla Skyrim quest item that was mistakenly added to several cells of Moonpath when I sent my original Moonpath to Oldrim's Elsweyr Typo patch.

It also prevents the quest from starting and the Khajiit from being spawned until "The Way of the Sound" is completed, as Moonpath's NPC repeatedly refers to the player as "Dovahkiin", which didn't make sense before this point in the story. When they spawn, they will be moved across the road from their original location to prevent conflicts with the Carriage and Ferry Travel Overhaul. The patch is also designed to ensure compatibility with Dragon Ascendant.

For best results, use this patch on a save that doesn't already have Moonpath installed on Elsweyr. If you don't use a new save, nothing game-breaking will happen - you may need to quickly travel back and forth to Falkreath a few times to get the cart to properly update to the new location.

If you are using Beyond Skyrim - Bruma and would rather spawn Khajiit in Greenwood instead of Falkreath, then my Beyond Skyrim - Bruma Moonpath to Elsweyr Synergy Patch (v2.0+) is compatible and recommended! Just make sure the Bruma patch is below this patch in your load order and that its versions of "MoonpathEnabler.pex" and "MoonpathEnabler.psc" will replace this one.

I'm not the original author of the mod this patch relies on. This patch is not supported in any way, shape, or form by the original author, and it is a standalone mod with its own responsibilities and bugs.

Modify this patch rendering is deprecated

This patch renders the following mods obsolete and should be uninstalled before installing this mod. Trying to use them with this mod installed can have unpredictable and undesirable consequences.

"JR's Immersive Launch Patch" from the original Moonpath page - this is broken.

"Moonpath to Elsweyr Carriage and Ferry Travel Overhaul Compatibility Patch" - This is no longer needed as this patch moves Khajiit across the road.

"Moonpath to Elsweyr - JR's Immersive Start Patch Fixed" - This is included in this patch so is no longer needed.

Install

Uninstall any of the above mods you may have installed.

Make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest version of Moonpath to Elswyr.

Download and install the patch, preferably using NMM or MO. If you want to do it manually, it should be as simple as dragging and dropping the .esp and script files into the "data" folder.

Uninstall the patch using the mod manager, or delete the .esp and script files from the "data" folder. This should safely revert any of my changes to vanilla. However, as a rule, Skyrim does not support uninstalling mods during playback, and this practice should be treated with caution.
