Major fixes for poor navigation from Moonpath to Elsweyr, as well as fixes to terrain, borders and updated textures.
describe
If you actually look at Moonpaths navigation, you'll immediately notice how bad it is. In Moonpath, NPCs are constantly trying to pass through wall, rock, tree objects in almost every cell. There are a large number of situations where the navigation mesh moves under objects, terrain, walls, etc., or is buried, floating, etc. Not only that, in many communities, NM is very conservative in some places. IoW, a lot of terrain is underutilized in terms of navmesh coverage. This file changes nearly every cell in Moonpath so that they can now navigate without constantly having to hang on to [all], and now they can move without constantly trying to cross terrain and objects, and with more freedom than before.
But that's not all.
Other fixes.
- Updated boundaries for all MP2E statics, npcs, ingestibles, etc.
-Terrain fixes. I fixed a few bugs, bugs, item placement issues that I happened to notice. Since Moonpath doesn't have its own world space, we can't use the landscape tools to shape the terrain for a more natural and rounded look, so we have to use static objects.
- Updated main sand texture. (4k normal 4k) This helps a lot. Many Moonpaths assets could use updates tbh. While MP2E doesn't have many textures and meshes of its own, most are outdated, most are 512/1k and only a few are 2k.
Edit ID redo. Many Moonpaths edit IDs were given a new prefix >MPE_Xxxxx.
Install *Read*
There are many other important bug fixes by other authors that address general and/or specific bugs in Moonpath. Installing all of these will ensure your Moonpath is as up to date as possible.
These companion files are highly *strongly recommended* for use with this file.
Therefore, in order to fully update and improve Moonpath, you need to install a total of 4 files. Yes, these four.
Moonpath to Elswey SSE 1.16.1
Illiani actual mod SSE conversion
Joseph Russell's unofficial moon path to Elswell Patch
- General overall fixes for many MP2E issues.
Fix for Moonpath to Elsweyr sky and lightning by filloax

Moonpath to Elsweyr Navmesh (and other) fixes

Install all required resources in the following order.
- Moonpath to Elsweyr SSE

*I recommend using v1.1 of this file rather than merging the files.
compatibility
This file fixes Moonpaths internal navigation and some other related issues.
This file does not change quests, npcs, or events related to the actual Moonpath "world". It makes no changes to the Moonpaths Tamriel element.
- Legacy of the Dragon Clan. compatible.
-Unoffical Moonpath Fix. - Compatible with few items common to both files.
Regarding feedback, i.e. complaints.
If you still find faulty pathfinding instances in Moonpath after installation, I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't %^%ch the files in a malicious and belligerent way. Skyrim pathfinding is still affected by a variety of variables that even good navigation can't always eliminate. This file revolutionizes a lot of Moonpaths territory and solves a lot of obvious problems, but it doesn't do every square millimeter. IoW, the NPC may continue to go poorly here or there. That's the way it is.
If you feel, or even verify, that this file might be wrong somewhere, please explain. If you find places where there are still suspicious paths to look for, you may have encountered places that MNMF has not. Or it could just be Skyrim being Skyrim.
Known issues:
I love seeing the texture updates for all the Moonpaths textures beyond the simple sand I did. I'd really like to fix the moss that looks terrible on some vegetation and better rocks et …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
