Generating fake lighting in DynDOLOD only to not get the results you want? Can't regenerate LOD? same here. This mod is for you!

Oh, look! It is another module with text and its main image is a blank background. :P

DynDOLOD's "FXGlow" light source for distant objects is not to everyone's taste. It sounds great on paper, but it looks a little too bright and doesn't always get it right (hey! That one rhymes). Sometimes you'll end up encountering "floating orbs of light" bugs (usually seen heading out from the main entrance outside Whiterun). It's up to you and the mod you use that affects the light source.

If you choose the FXGlow option and end up regretting it, you will have to delete the newly generated LOD and start over. Or... you could use empty mesh replacements with FXGlow meshes and they'll be like they were never there.

In theory it should work for LE, but I can't test it because I haven't installed it in years. Restoring the format via the NIF optimization tool should resolve any issues.

Just install the mod (manually or using a mod manager) and replace the grid. Problem solved! :)

We also recommend SkyrimFantom’s Reduced Glow FX SE. This affects the halo around objects that are close to you.

Thanks Sheson for the DynDOLOD and don’t forget to give it to your firstborn.

DynDOLOD's 'FXGlow' for distant object light sources is not to everyone's taste. It sounds great on paper, but it can look a little too bright and doesn't always turn out right (Hey! That rhymes). Sometimes you end up with the "floating ball of light" bug (commonly seen facing outward from the main gate outside Whiterun). It depends on you and what mods you're using that affect light sources.

If you choose the FXGlow option and end up regretting it, you'll have to delete your newly-generated LOD and start over. Or... you could just use the empty mesh replacements for the FXGlow meshes and it'll be like they were never there in the first place.

Should theoretically work for LE, but I can't test it as I haven't installed it in ages. Reverting the format through NIF Optimiser should fix any issues.

Just install the mod (manually or with your mod manager) and replace the meshes. Problem solved!:)

Also recommend Reduced Glow FX SE by SkyrimFantom. This affects the glow around objects nearer to you.

Give your thanks to Sheson for DynDOLOD and don't forget to give your firstborn.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
