describe

Sorry for my English, I hope you can understand what I write here :)

This mod adds three types of dwarf blasters to the game - cryoblasters, plasma guns, and flamethrowers. Each blaster has a unique look, sound and visual effects.

Explosives are technically crossbows, and they can use standard crossbow bolts, steel or dwarven. But their real power lies in special custom-made ammunition, each bomb is different - the Freezer uses cryogen, the Plasma Gun uses Plasma Cells, and the Flamethrower uses Napalm (it's Dwarven Napalm, you know :). These custom rounds are incredibly fast (almost twice as fast as regular bolts) and virtually unaffected by gravity. Using these ammo, you can turn your blaster into a sniper rifle. With the grumpy Blaster, it's quite possible to hide in a mountain and take down an entire bandit camp before you know what's going on.

Details

All Demolitions are identical to Fortified Dwarven Crossbows, and they ignore 50% of armor. Special ammo can be of three degrees of power - Normal (5 damage, mainly used for automatic blasting, can be produced in large quantities), Improved (25 damage, regular use), and Fatal (50 damage). You can craft advanced ammunition and increase damage output.

----------------------------------

There is an optional file which also includes an autoblaster.

This requires SKSE64.

There is an automatic version of each blaster.

NOTE: The original autocrossbow script was created by J3X, all credit goes to him. I just modified it.

Autoblasters have low damage but a high rate of fire and don't require reloading. The flamethrower is the fastest, but its projectiles move very slowly and have limited range. The other two blasters have a lower rate of fire, but they have very fast projectiles and longer range.

For balance (and economy :) reasons I recommend just using regular custom ammo with auto blasters.

You can't train autoblasters, and you can't enchant them. The only way to improve damage is to improve your archery skills and equip archery enhancement items.

Followers cannot use blasters in automatic mode. Instead, they will use them as regular non-automatic blasters, reloading after each shot. This is done to avoid some problems. So there's no need to give minions an auto-explode - give them a normal explosion.

The autoblaster is not affected by the known "Quck Shot bug" because the auto-trigger script completely bypasses the "reload" animation.

However, if you press and release the mouse button very quickly, it will still cause an error before the script is updated (actually less than 0.15 seconds). Since it only happens by chance and is very rare, it's safe to take the Quick Shot perk.

---------------------------------

You can enchant non-auto blasters, but please note that if you are using the version with auto blasters, the enchantment will only work when using premium (improved and lethal) ammo or vanilla bolts. Enchantments do not work when using normal ammo (such as napalm or cryogen). In the non-auto-running version, the enchantment can use any ammo.

NOTE: All Demolitions deal physical damage (although it looks elemental).

-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------

How to get them:

Blasters are powerful weapons, and you must be an experienced adventurer to obtain them.

At the end of "Lost to Age", look for a secret door...

To use blasters (and other ranged weapons) effectively you can also add the following string to your Skyrim.ini file (if you don't have one already)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
