Allows you to use other 1H weapons as dual weapons.
Just installing it from the mod manager won't make it work immediately, read more below!
PS: We are going to use this feature personally with my friends and I thought it would save other frustrated gamers time so I uploaded it here. As the original and sole author, I have permission to upload it here, feel free to share it and modify it to suit your liking :)
This isn't exactly a bug fix, but a workaround so dual weapons for different 1H weapons can be used! SkyUI for SSE should be better, but since it was missing I made this fix.
Bugs in Skyrim:
If you've been playing dual-wielding, you'll have to first find yourself unable to use two different weapons in your favorites after using magic. You must have come across situations where magic spells are always wielded on the left side causing you to not swing your left weapon. This becomes a problem when you switch to dual weapons. Imagine having an amazing combat kill while you're in the middle and then hitting an enemy in one shot from Dual Power, only to find out you're dead because your character only wielded one weapon! Yes, I know it's painful, so I created this app to solve the problem.
About this fix:
This is an Autohotkey application I created so you won't really want to use esp files, I've also attached the code I wrote for you, feel free to modify it or compile your own.
Requirements (please read this first before complaining that it doesn't work):
For the double action to work, you must do the following:
- Set your favorite left hand weapon to #8 (you should have two weapons of the same type)
- Set your favorite right hand weapon to #7 (just one will do)
- Set favorite #1 to empty
- Run automatic hotkeys from downloaded files
- Now you can press 1 to switch to dual wield at any time.
How it works:
- This code automatically activates key 8 twice to reset any skills that displace the left hand weapon.
- After resetting the left hand weapon, the code will activate key 7 to assign the right hand weapon.
- This is done automatically by pressing 1.
notes:
Unfortunately this fix consumes an additional 2 favorite keys. So if you're like me and use keys 7 and 8 for other spells, you're unfortunately giving up or it might not be for you.
This is dual use, so if you have a 1H and a shield, I don't know if it will work for you.
If by any chance you have different weapon preferences, just check out the source code and modify it to your liking in less than 15 lines of code!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
