Adventure for a while? Got too much loot and nowhere to sell it? Maybe you should open a store!

Introducing Drunken Dragon!

===========

describe

===========

This mod allows you to purchase a burned-out farmhouse west of Whiterun and rebuild it into a shop to sell your wares. The purchase will cost

7500 septims and can only be completed after you visit the location. Once purchased, the ruins were completely rebuilt into a tavern and shop, complete with empty mannequins and display cases! You must provide your own inventory and hire a shopkeeper to go to the store as you adventure.

Version 2.1 is a major overhaul that significantly improves Ambience, adds numerous new features, fixes almost every bug, and is compatible with the Breezehome Store. For more details on the changes, see the change log below.

Version 2.2 is a minor update to version 2.1, which includes (hopefully) some bug fixes and improvements in preparation for porting to SSE. If any players are able to manually install this mod in SSE and test it for me, I'd really appreciate any feedback!

============

This mod was created after I released my Breezehome Store mod and several people requested a standalone version without Breezehome.

When you investigate the ruined farmhouse northwest of the Western Watchtower, you'll have a new "Miscellaneous" quest objective to talk to someone in Whiterun about the property. Go speak to Proventus Avenicci in Dragonsreach and he will tell you that the land is for sale - although it was destroyed by the bandits at Fort Greymoor, and is dangerous. He will sell it to you for 7500 gold, cheap if you ask me!

Once you purchase the property, the farmhouse will be rebuilt into the Drunken Dragon Shop and Tavern. We'll add a new map marker to your map to show you the way and make fast travel easy. You'll need to hire a shopkeeper, but any regular voiced fan will do that - just lead them into the shop and talk to them, offering them jobs. They stay in the farmhouse and go to the store while you venture out. You can fire your shopkeeper at any time or hire another fan to replace your shopkeeper.

There is a "Store Inventory" chest in the farmhouse basement that serves as a container for all loot. Your shopkeeper can use any items left in this container for sale (yes, you can contact your shopkeeper and view his wares and buy your own equipment from him or sell your loot to him). Several times throughout the day, even if you're gone, the owner will sell and deposit your share of the profits in a safe in the basement. You need to return to the store to claim your earnings. Any gold you place in your inventory locker is safe and available to your shopkeeper through merchant dialogue.

There is also a non-respawn chest and safe under the stairs opposite the inventory cabinet. This box is a safe place to store any items you don't want to lose or sell.

When it sells, you'll earn 60% of each item's full value (to be used to pay your shopkeeper's salary and taxes). Applies to all kinds of items except player magic items. Due to the lack of functionality in Skyrim's scripting language, any items players intoxicate will be sold for the value of the unaffected base item. There is no way around this; I recommend selling any player magic items to other vendors in the game.

Some players may wish to redecorate to their own taste, using the Jaxonz Positioner to rearrange and decorate the Drunken Dragon, as shown in the screenshots uploaded by some users.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
