Dreaming While Sleeping - Unfinished Mod by Trainwiz

Trainwiz allowed me to port it to Skyrim SE! :) Original description: Now, when you sleep, you have a chance to have a random, fully interactive dream! About this mod Machine translation

Trainwiz allowed me to port it to Skyrim SE! :) Original description: Now, when you sleep, you have a chance to have a random, fully interactive dream! Otherwise, you may find out, but I've lost any real motivation to develop this mod, so am posting this as a resource for anyone interested in picking it up.

This is Trainwiz's original description of Project Dreamboy's Revenge.

For those of you who know, a while ago I started a mod called Dreamboy's Revenge. The design is simple. Whenever players fall asleep, they have the opportunity to live out a fully interactive dream. Nightmares, prophetic visions and race-specific stuff are all planned.

So what happened?

Well, I've been doing actual game design for a long time, making my own games under my own company, and doing VR work and research. That not only consumed most of my time, but almost all of my interest. I like doing more things myself.

Luckily, aside from Dreamboy's Revenge, I don't have any actual projects currently.

Now I can't have all the fun, so at this point I decided to make it available to you as a free resource, anything they want can be done.

Overview

This mod contains all the work I've done, including the basic scripts and units for the dream system and individual dreams. Includes source files for the script, as well as detailed documentation outlining how it works and the final plan. Anyone who needs a more detailed explanation of how things work or what dreams to plan specifically can pm. However, please note that if you want to complete scripting in the first place, you will need to have some knowledge of scripting, and I will not teach you this.

Otherwise, feel free to install this mod and use it as you like.

————————————————————————————————————————

This is Trainwiz's original description of the project, Dreamboy's Revenge.

To those who are aware, a while back I started a mod called Dreamboy's Revenge. The design was simple. Whenever the player went to sleep, they had a chance of having a fully interactive dream. Nightmares, prophetic visions, and race specific stuff were all planned.

So... what happened?

Well, for quite a while now I've been going to into actual game design, making my own games under my own company, as well as doing work and research for virtual reality. Not only has that consumed most of my time, but pretty much all of my interest. I like doing my own stuff more.

Luckily, I hadn't any real projects going at this point, except of course, for Dreamboy's Revenge.

Now I can't have all the fun, so at this point, I've decided that I'd like to give it to you as a free resource, for any and all to finish if they want.

OVERVIEW

This mod contains all the work I've done, which includes the basic scripts and cells for the dreaming system and the individual dreams. Source files for the scripts are included, as well as a detailed document outlining how it works, and what the eventual plans were. People who need a more detailed explanation on how stuff works or what dreams specifically were planned can PM me. However, be aware that you'll need a decent knowledge of scripting if you want to finish this in the first place, and I'm not going to teach you that.

Otherwise, you're free to gut this mod and use it as you wish.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
