About this mod Machine translation

This mod enhances the vanilla Draugr and adds new varieties of Draugr to the game.

feature:

Exploration is a big part of Skyrim, and exploration will take you to several Norse tombs. This means you'll be fighting Draugr a lot. Unfortunately, these encounters often feel less than mediocre, so I figured now would be a good time to give Draugr a little more variety.

Almost every Draugr in the game has received the upgrades detailed below, with a few exceptions (I'm not changing Draquesr-related quests right now to make sure I don't break anything). As a result, you'll find that most Draugr are now much tougher. The new Draugr has also been added to the level list, with multiple classes and types of equipment to keep things balanced.

Variations of Vanilla Draugr:

  • Draugr's armor now provides protection, not just for show. The more heavily armored Drago looks, the more heavily armored it actually is. Additionally, Draugr now have additional perks that increase their defense based on their level of heavy armor, light armor, and interception skills.
  • All Draugr receive perks that increase the damage they deal with one-handed weapons, two-handed weapons, and bows. The higher their relevant skill level, the higher the damage.
  • The Spellcasting Draugr has received cosmetic changes and new varieties have been added. See note below for Warlocks.

New Draugr:

Sentinels - Sentinels are members of the Dragon Cult who guard temples and other sacred places. These Draugr still fulfill their duties, protecting the resting places of their master dragon priests and their hidden secrets. They are heavier than other Draugr armor and are usually equipped with one-handed weapons and shields.

Berserkers - Fearless, savage warriors of life, these Draugr have withstood life better than most and still possess considerable physical strength. They tend to favor light armor and heavy weaponry, charging into battle with reckless abandon to strike down their enemies with force.

Warlocks - Now Nords may shy away from the practice of magic, but dragon cultists are well aware of the destructive potential of arcane arts. Some of them are dedicated to harnessing the power of fire and frost (shocks will be added in later updates). Over centuries, magical energy slowly built up within the bodies of the sleeping Draugr, turning them into the elemental beings that still protect Norse tombs from raiders.

Future updates:

This mod is a work in progress. Future updates are likely to include new types of Draugr, unique Draugr as mini-bosses, and new ways to summon Draugr as thralls or companions.

Exploration is an important part of Skyrim, and exploration will lead you to several Nordic tombs. This means that you will fight Draugr pretty frequently. Unfortunately, these encounters often end up being a little underwhelming, so I felt it was time to buff Draugr up, as well as adding a bit of variety.

Nearly all of the Draugr in the game have received the upgrades detailed below, with a few exceptions (I refrained from altering Draugr linked to quests for now, to ensure I don't break anything). Consequently, you will find that most Draugr are now tougher. New types of Draugr have also been added to leveled lists, with several ranks and types of equipment to keep things balanced.

Changes to vanilla Draugr:

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
