Scream...a bit lackluster. Many of them are completely eliminated via magic effects, or become useless once a level threshold is passed. And...why don't you get *better*? The only skill progression you get is more shouting and yelling levels.
Dragonborn Ascendant aims to correct this and give Thu'um something truly powerful: leveled shouts, more practical cooldowns, and even a couple complete functional replacements. It doesn't quite reach the level of ULTIMATE IMMERSIVE OVERHAUL, but it does provide a much needed buff.

======================
For the base game:
Added the special ability spell "Dragon Ascension" which will provide a dragon lift that reduces the cooldown by 3% for every 5 dragon souls you absorb, up to a maximum of 50 souls (meaning a 30% reduction). Why not more? Because it stacks with two vanilla cooldown reduction sources (Amulet or Talos' Blessing) for a total of 70%. If you want to yell every half second, throw off the balance of your own game. :P
Breath of Fire and Frost now have a 25/35/45 second cooldown.
Ice Form also has a shorter cooldown of 40/50/60.
Breath of Fire and Frost now have tiered damage increments every 10 levels, starting at level 20. Each shout word level has tiered damage. Additionally, special effects of destruction may be applied (burn scare, freeze paralysis). Ice Form is still a more guaranteed way to thaw (excluding Hermy's perks in Dragonborn).
The ruthless force of power can stagger dragons. Other than that, it's very well balanced.
Frustration has a tier system similar to Fire/Frost Breath. At all three powers and with words of level 50+, you can scare* anything that is not immune to fear effects.
There is also a level system for disarming. At level 50+ you can disarm *any* with all three words. Drop that sword like it's hot, Death Lord!
Becoming Ethereal has also been repurposed. Cooldowns are now much like Throwing Sounds, where more power words mean shorter cooldowns, and durations have level levels.
Animal Allegiance Now, instead of requiring an animal that may or may not be there, and may or may not arrive on time for any purpose, now summons spectral animals instead. Level 1 is a wolf, level 2 is a sabrecat, and level 3 is a *BEAR*. The cooldown is much shorter than other summons, Call of Courage.
Calah for Odahviing is now a "Greater Power" Shout, which means you can call your buddy once a day. Balanced, cooldown is now 5 seconds.
Many offensive shouts now have the "Ward Breaker" power, taking advantage of how Wards only care about spell power, rather than the lasting damage the spell actually does. Hear the sweet sounds of enemy mage wards shatter with the power of your voice. Sometimes, Shout is even charismatic enough to sway them.
Draugr's cry is now completely separate, retaining only the Dragonborn's cry given by this mod. This may cause conflicts as I have to change the draugr actor form to implement the changes. I did inherit a non-master dependency fix from USSEP in one instance.
Reason and Contemplation: Fire/Frost Breath are severely outclassed by Destruction Walker AoE spells, there's no point in using them. Now, they are very useful burst damage attacks. As major losses dealers still have nothing to rely on. At higher levels, they're actually useful for boss encounters!
Full Unbridled Strength now allows Drac to rise to the head, but Dragonrend is still a better destroyer of dragon attacks. It's basically for early game time. Also...it doesn't work with Alduin. ;)
For Dawnguard:
Soul Tear now has a layered effect. "Rii" creates a soul trap effect. "Vaaz" will add a huge damage effect that may directly kill any weak points. "Zor" the whole process is …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
