About this mod Machine translation

This mod improves the appearance of Skyrim elders, giving them ApachiiSkyHair and Ks Hairdo hairstyles, and removing caps and caps so players can see the hair.

I really like Skyrim, but even though it's new, I feel like the look of its NPCs could be improved. Many excellent mods exist to tweak these looks, but I wanted to contribute as well. Therefore, I created a mod that gives people another option to improve the appearance of Skyrim's Dignified Elders. I hope you like it!

This is what I'm trying to accomplish. I chose characters who were listed as elders in the creation kit, referred to as older, or sounded or looked older than me, and tried to improve their appearance in a friendly way. I gave them hairstyles like ApachiiSkyHair or KS Hairdos, and in a few cases I also changed my eyebrows and beard and removed dirt from my face. I try to stay true to any changes I make to the character, often taking inspiration from Bethesda's hair choices. I also tried to give each senior a different hairstyle so they would be more memorable. I tried to respect the character - I love these people! They deserve more attention.

What do I really mean by this character? Well, I try to give slightly more elaborate hairstyles to upper-class old folks. If a vanilla haircut has braids, I try to get a haircut with braids. I try to keep my hair long and my hair short. There were a few bald and bald male elders, and I gave them a little hair. I guess that's what they wanted, and there aren't many (any?) mod-added styles for baldness. Septimus Signus, a little crazy, wild looking, haggard looking. Hven, Sven is worried that other people might think she's crazy, having a lot of hair is fine, but it looks a little unkempt, so you might be thinking, "Is she crazy?". Elgrim's hair is tied back so it doesn't get in the way of his work. So here are a few examples for you.

I also removed hats and hats from some characters so the player could see the hair. I think that's probably the biggest difference for me because there are only so many different caps and caps in the game. In some cases (like Arngeir for example) I was surprised by what Bethesda chose for the hairstyle, but I still tried to choose a similar hairstyle that better represented what I had in mind.

See the screenshots in the Images section for details, and see the list of characters covered in the Articles section.

Please note that this mod requires the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition patch and forwarding changes from it. It also requires KS Hairdo's SSE and ApachiiSkyHair SSE (master files and male hair files) as it references those mods' hairstyles. Without these other mods, Dignified Elders will cause Skyrim to not launch

I have no plans to release a Legend Edition version, or an XBox or PS4 version. However, I believe I have chosen to be open enough to allow others to mod Dignity Elders for these platforms, as long as they trust me and the author of the required mod.

I provide compatibility patches for Consistent Older People, which is a staple of my personal load orders. If you're using it, I'd load Consistent Older People, then Dignified Elders, then Patches. If there's enough interest and I have enough time, I may provide additional compatibility patches. Let me know what is needed!

Personally, this is my first ever released mod. Constructive feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
