About this mod Machine translation
Trees, plants and other clutter the walls while maintaining a vanilla look.
This is a port of Dex's "Detailed Cities" mod on Steam Workshop. It includes new bugfixes and tweaks. This is a very lightweight minimalist city overhaul that adds trees, plants, and other clutter to the walled city while maintaining a vanilla look.
This is ideal for users who don't want a complete overhaul of their city, but still want more detail in their city with little loss in performance.
It's also ideal if you just want to add some trees to Whiterun, but don't like the way other mods add too many large trees to Whiterun.
2 versions available
Detailed City SE: Original version with some tweaks and bugfixes. Includes some street lights.
Detailed City SE - No Lights: Same as above, but with all light edits removed for better compatibility with lighting mods (e.g. ELFX exteriors)
feature
Whiterun - Adds lots of trees, shrubs, and debris (barrels, etc.). Edited more extensively than other cities. (Optional) Add more brazier lights.
Rift Valley - Added some trees, some shrubs and debris. (Optional) Add street lights and wall-mounted torches.
Markarth - Add a small amount of other shrubs and debris. (Optional) Add a dwemer themed brazier light.
Solitude - Add a small number of trees and shrubs.
Windhelm - Adds few bushes and barrels.
The mod also adds a smelter, tanning rack, workbench, and fast travel markers for Skyforge, and a smelter for the lone blacksmith.
Porting/Technical Information
As part of the porting process, it now features 44 tables, has been cleared automatically and manually by xEdit, USSEP changes have been forwarded, and some tweaks have been made to improve project placement and compatibility.
This mod will not touch the navmesh. The navigation mesh that originally came with the 2012 version of this mod has been removed as it was wildly edited and only a few of the items removed in this port were really needed (most of the items added by this mod don't have collisions or are off the path and are small enough not to interfere with NPC navigation).
compatibility
This should be compatible with almost everything, but should not be used with other city overhaul mods - if you use another mod that adds or moves items in the city, you may see some intersecting objects.
If you use any mod that adds lights to the city, I recommend you use the "no lights" version, otherwise you may encounter flickering lights bugs due to too many lights being added.
If using DynDOLOD, you need to create a rules file for the trees in Whiterun, otherwise the tree LOD that intersects the tree will be turned off. If you make a working one, please paste it in the comments section so I can add it to the mod.
Install/Uninstall
Same as any other base mod. It is safe to add or remove this mod mid-play.
Loading order doesn't matter, but when in doubt, place it near the top of the loading order.
support
This mod is considered "final" although I will try to fix any serious bugs if found. I don't plan on updating it as it's still mainly just a port of the Steam Workshop mod.

This is a port of the "Detailed Cities" mod by Dex, on Steam Workshop. It includes new bugfixes and tweaks. This is a very lightweight minimalist city overhaul that adds trees, plants, and other clutter to the walled cities, while staying close to the vanilla look.
This is ideal for users who do not want a full sized city overhaul, but still want a little more detail in their cities, with virtually no performance loss.
Also ideal if you just want some trees in Whiterun, but don't like how the other mods add way too many large trees to Whiterun.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
