Dementors are some of the foulest creatures to walk the earth. They infect the darkest, dirtiest places, they glorify in decay and despair, they suck peace, hope and happiness out of the air around you... Get too close to the Dementors and every good feeling, every happy memory will be sucked out of you. If they could, a Dementor would give you long enough to reduce you to yourself... nothingness and evil. You will have nothing but the worst experience of your life.
Dementors are slithering, ghostly undead creatures that are widely considered to be among the most terrifying creatures in the world.
The Dementor has a humanoid shape, approximately three meters, or 10 feet tall, and is covered by a black hooded cloak covered in long black cloth, giving it a ghostly appearance. Its body looks like a gray rotten corpse, like a rotting corpse. It breathed like it was trying to "suck the air" out of the room and made a squawking sound. Its hands were "gleaming, grey, slimy and bruised". They seemed to radiate coldness. The hollow eye sockets of the dementor's face were covered with scabbed skin. There should be a large gaping hole in the mouth for sucking the life force out of the victim. Dementors are also called blind because they have no eyes. However, they can sense a nearby presence by sensing their victim's emotions.
Dementors feed on human happiness, thus creating feelings of depression and hopelessness in anyone who comes near them. They may also consume a person's soul, leaving the victim in a permanent vegetative state, and are therefore often referred to as "soul-sucking demons", leaving the person as an empty shell to be used as a body for death.
The dementors seemed to suck all the light and happiness from the air as they took long, crunching breaths, leaving darkness hanging everywhere and their victims feeling unusually cold. They can glide toward their victims without making a sound.
Their intelligence is highly debated: they are sentient enough to taste and sense fear, are attracted to it, and bring with it the promise of positive memories that can be generated. They are also smart enough to be greedy: they obey dark mages and vampires for years because in the performance of their duties there is no hope or happiness left in the prisoner. They can understand and follow at least simple instructions. They can also communicate, meaning they can speak or otherwise communicate with wizards. Most mages, on the other hand, view dementors as malignant creatures who would never differentiate between the animals they hunt and those that stand in their way.
The Dementors are the direct spawns of the "Ideal Master" in Soul Mountain, and are not known to permanently reside anywhere else other than monsters summoned and bound by wizards and vampires.
Near the Soul Mountain, Dementors appear to be summoned as prey of varying sizes, usually between 2 and 5, and sometimes serve as guardians of the Necromancer's lair. They appear to attack their targets first, surrounding them, cutting off any escape, and then immediately descending on them to feed.
Although not very strong, they have strange physical properties that vary between tangible and intangible, so generally arrows and projectile-like magic won't affect them, and in most cases weapons won't work either. The best strategy is to use …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
