About this mod Machine translation

Decorator Helper's features allow you to move, rotate, and resize nearly any item (even items from other mods) and lock clutter in place. With version 2.0, you can also place almost any item elsewhere in the game world.

Decorator Helper's features allow you to move, rotate, and resize almost any item (even items from other mods) and lock clutter in place.

It does not modify any original game objects (for maximum compatibility). SKSE64 is not required, but improved project selection functionality is available.

Version 2 now has all the core features of Jaxonz Positioner, including the ability to "get" certain items from the game world and then "place" them in other locations. The original Skyrim's Cobb locator and storage helper modules still have more functionality, but this is done while keeping SKSE64 optional.

Version 2 also changed the way selection cubes and items are moved, but still uses the player's movement and perspective.

Warning: Always save your game before starting a big decorating session, especially if you're sneaking around on power-ups. Things can get so bad that you may need to exit the game (to the desktop) and reload the saved game. The ability to delete and copy items means you may create a mess, so be careful.

Even without sneaking, mannequins, display cases, weapon patches, and weapon racks can be selected, and the special markers and activators that make them functional will move along with the visible objects. When moving the weapons rack, only one section will be highlighted, but once placed, the rest of the rack will snap into place.

Using decorators helps

When the power is used for the first time, the Decorating Assistant Guide book is displayed. You can grab the book if you like, but it's also always available from the "Select Cube" menu.

Using a power will create a small orange selection block, equipped with a special spell.

In some cases, the power will automatically select an item directly without causing the selection cube to change. These situations are:

Items retained with the Grab control.

Named items in the crosshairs. (SKSE64 required)

Nearby items selected in the console. (SKSE64 required)

If no items are automatically selected, move the cube to select an item.

As you cast the right hand spell, the cube will move relative to your position and perspective.

When a cube comes close to a movable item, the closest item is visually highlighted and a sound is played. The cube must be close to the handle of the weapon and the floor of the furniture.

Use power again to complete the selection process.

If the cube is not near the movable item, the selection process stops.

If still sneaking, the Select Cube menu is displayed.

Done - just exit the selection process

Undo - Undo the last delete or action

Put - Create a copy of the last item remembered by Take

Help - Open the guide again

If the cube is near a movable object, a left-hand spell is attached and the highlighted item is selected instead of the cube.

All items change based on the player's movement and perspective when the spell is cast.

The item will move when only the right spell is cast, rotate when only the left spell is cast, and can be resized when both spells are cast simultaneously.

When not sneaking, the item cannot be moved below the player, rotation is limited to 30 degrees, and resizing is limited to 20%. When sneaking, all restrictions are removed to allow absolute and detailed placement.

Lowering your hand without sneaking will undo changes to the item's position, rotation, and size. If one or more spells are being cast, only the most recent position, rotation, or size change will be undone. If no spell is cast, the item will revert to its previous state.

Put your hands down and sneak up on the item's special reset at the same time. If no spell is cast, the item is moved to its original game position (if possible) or returned to its starting position (if not). If a spell is being cast, the item will be set to its defaul …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
