Mod function
- Essential for player setup
- When the player's health reaches zero, the player enters a bleeding state and loses gold and items to the attacker.
- Players will respawn in a safe location when their health reaches zero.
- Items lost by the player will still be on the attacker's possession. Feel free to seek revenge!
- Customizable MCM. Set the respawn location, penalty amount, and missing items.
-Player can choose to respawn in the temple of Kynareth, or the nearest death hall or the player's home. Cities with Halls of the Dead are Whiterun, Solitude, Falkreath, Markarth, Riften, and Windhelm. If defeated in Solsteim, the player will return to Raven Rock's inn, or to the Hall of Valor if defeated in Sovangarde.
- If you think it doesn't make sense for cave bears to steal gear, exclude creatures from punishment.
suggestion
For a truly hardcore experience, you should set the MCM to lose 100% of your gold and your entire inventory (mission items are not deleted). These settings are not enabled by default so as not to surprise anyone when losing all their gear, but this is the best way to use this mod! Combine this with an overhaul like Requiem or Morrowloot Ultimate and the result is a truly challenging yet immersive experience. See attached image for recommended settings. Of course, you are free to configure your own play style!
Uninstall and update
When uninstalling, remember to use MCM, otherwise your player may not be restored. When updating, open a console in-game and enter the following commands "StopQuest _RespawnQuest" and "StartQuest _RespawnQuest".

SKSE and SKYUI
compatibility
This mod should not conflict with any other mods. However, it does not work with new locations, including player homes added by other mods.
Issue tracker
TBA. Keep an eye out for special locations that might break the mission if the character respawns so I can make exceptions for those cells. I'm currently running a game with this mod and searching for such issues.
Planned features
- Leaves a copy of the player's corpse at the point of death, missing items (Diablo II style).
- Super Hardcore Mode: Resets player level, skills, privileges to 1.
- lost

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
