Although there are several solutions available online, I chose this mod because I wanted something that wouldn't conflict with any other mods to be able to kill necessary NPCs for role-playing purposes. All this mod does is create a quest that automatically adds the following spells to the player:

At the start of the game after installing the mod, you will receive a new spell called "Kill Essential NPC" (under the Destruction branch). This spell will instantly kill the target essential NPC. If the NPC is not required it will have no effect and you will get a message informing this.

Unfortunately this won't work for kids, but there are plenty of mods out there that allow kids to play.

What are basic NPCs?

In fact, a base NPC cannot be killed under any conditions, and when their health bar is completely depleted, they will only return to their regenerative state for a short time before regaining health. It's impossible to tell whether an NPC is essential without trying to kill them.

Some NPCs in Skyrim are always essential and can never be killed, even after the relevant tasks are completed. Notable examples include the Imperial Embassy in the Imperial Camp and the Stormcloak Officer in the Stormcloak Camp.

For an unknown reason, some NPCs appear to be resistant to the KillEssential command. I've never been able to determine why these actors were able to resist it, or even go beyond any order to remove their base flag. Examples of these NPCs I've found so far are Balgruuf The Greater and Falk Firebeard.

Use your favorite mod manager, or unzip the .bsa and .esp files to the Data folder and enable them.

It should be compatible with almost everything. There are no changes to any existing NPCs or quests.

6.Uninstall

Just use the console to remove the spell from your character, save then remove the mod. It's that easy!
