Dawnguard Hood

Added light and heavy hoods to Dawnguard's armor catalog.

Dawnguard Hood

The Dawnguard have been my favorite faction in the game since the release of their eponymous DLC, and for my first playthrough - a sword-slotted tank filled with the Dawnguard Plate - their clothing selection is outstanding. The Dawn Defender full-face helmet looks menacing, but most of the time, no one else seems to be wearing one. Cool cool cool.

And then I ended up signing with them in an archer role,...I'm not going to say that the costumes made me rethink my choices on the side or anything, but it was definitely a tough time. It's hard to think of one as a destroyer of darkness, a holy hand of righteousness, when one is wearing something like... something like that.

This mod solves the problem by adding light and heavy Dawnguard themed hoods to the game. You can buy them from Gunmar, craft them yourself, or find them on the walls of Fort Dawnguard.

These are not replacements, so standard lightweight Dawnguard helmets are still available. I've made some small adjustments to Adinirth's original mod: the hood now allows you to wear a small circle underneath it, and the crafting recipe has also become more unique. I've also included a small "patch" for kryptopyr's Weapons Armor Clothing and Clutter Fixes, which I highly recommend adjusting the hood's armor class and values to reflect the WACCF's Dawnguard helmet numbers.

Dawnguard Hoods

The Dawnguard have been my favourite faction in the game since their eponymous DLC was released, and for my first playthrough with it -- a sword and board tank in full Dawnguard Plate -- their outfit selection was excellent. The Dawnguard Full Helmet looks menacing and badass, and the rest of the group seems to go without headgear most of the time. Cool cool cool.

Then I ended up signing on with them during an archer character, and... I'm not gonna say that the outfit had me reconsidering my choice in sides or anything, but it was genuinely a rough time. It's hard to take a guy seriously as a destroyer of darkness, the swift hand of holy justice, when he's wearing... that.

This mod rectifies this problem by adding a light and heavy Dawnguard themed hood to the game. You can either buy them from Gunmar, make them yourself, or find them on the ramparts of Fort Dawnguard.

These are not a replacer, so the standard light Dawnguard helmet is still available. I've made a few small adjustments from Adinirth's original mod: the hood now allows you to wear a circlet beneath it and the crafting recipes have been made more distinct from each other. I've also included a very small "patch" for kryptopyr's Weapons Armor Clothing and Clutter Fixes, which I highly recommend, that adjusts the hoods' armour ratings and values to mirror WACCF's numbers for the Dawnguard helmets.
