Dark Brotherhood Mail - Standalone

Ever wished you had a piece of Dark Brotherhood armor that didn't look like a swimsuit? Here's one, and it has the same stats and colors as standard shield armor, so you won't be ashamed of using the mod.

I'm purely motivated by my overly-obsessed hatred of the standard Dark Brotherhood armor, so now it looks like the Brotherhood is actually protected instead of wearing swimsuits.

This is a standalone version of Ebony Mail, with only the same stats as the vanilla Dark Brotherhood armor, meaning it has the same enchantments, the same price, and the same armor class, and can be improved with the same materials and perks. Since photoshop is able to match the color of the mask, the color is also the same scheme - so it doesn't conflict with the other armor.

One of these is located on the wardrobe next to the robe with smock at Falkreath Sanctuary, while the other appears on a shelf near Babette at Dawnstar Sanctuary.

Male and female support, non-replacement.

I also added it to Veezara's clothing set, but, like I said, if that's your preferred NPC/follower, the original armor is still there.

Q: Are you planning on making a new/complete set?

Answer: Probably not. If so, expect it to be in a different file, which I might link to from this page. If you're worried about the custom fit properties, don't be; it will be registered as Dark Brotherhood armor, so wearing it with the rest of the armor set will count toward the bonus.

Q: Do you give credit to the original author?

Answer: I am the original author. It comes from Bethesda files, not anyone else. Others thought this, and others still do. This is not one of those mods. If you don't like it, please don't download it and don't waste our time.

Q: Can you change [random attributes]?

Answer: No. This armor is just armor that looks better. So it has the same stats, enchantments, tempering materials and perks. After joining the Dark Brotherhood and unlocking the Arcane Blacksmith perk, you can craft an unenchanted version.

Q: Where is it? /Cannot find it.

A: The images are in the slide show on this page. It's also easy to make if something happens. If it's not in the crafting menu (under Misc), check to make sure the .esp is turned on in the data file options and that there is a .bsa in the Skyrim Data folder. If you need help with the latter, just delete the mod files in the Data folder and reinstall.

Question: Who wears armor?

A: Only Veezara equips it by default, as he and Astrid are the only ones with default shield armor, and Astrid has a cinematic intro. This setting can be quickly changed using the equipitem console command after clicking on the desired NPC in the console. To find the correct project ID you can search in the console using the help "brotherhood mail" command.
