Ever wanted to be the ultimate boss? Then this is the armor for you! Dark, harsh, glowing and tough as nails. Male models only, women get regular Daedric armor due to lazy writers. Tutorial on changing glow color below

4118/5000The next step in Daedric's evolution. If your enemies are smart, they'll run right in front of you. Too bad they are not.

Development of Dadric Armor

After creating my dream weapon (the Daedric Ultra Greatsword), I set out to create an improved and more threatening Daedric Armor to match it. Again made the armor mostly for myself, but enough people liked the sword that I decided to give them the armor as well.

The armor is once again licensed from the original David Treeps, made from several vanilla meshes and several new glow parts from Daedric Glow Sets Redone.

Unlike Ultra Greatsword, there are no color variations for the armor this time to reduce file size bloat. So the default glow color is green

Instead, I'll provide a tutorial below, along with images on how to change the colors yourself using just Nifskope.

The reason the mod is in beta is that I haven't figured out how to get the animation of the enchantment table's orbs to work properly. I'm going to need to wait until I get help with this issue, so I'll post the mod sooner rather than later to see if anyone can find a solution to this problem.

Otherwise, the armor works as expected.

Armor can only be obtained through crafting.

To obtain it, you need the Forged Dragon Armor Armor. (This is done to avoid

Disables the Dragon Bone Armor perk by adding another armor that is stronger than the Dragon Bone Armor)

To make it by hand,

compatibility

Since the armor is made using vanilla meshes, the armor will be compatible with all texture packs that modify its texture files.

How to change the color of the glow?

(Image from the "Mod Images" page)

To change the color of the glow from green to suit your taste, you first need to download Nifskope.

I personally use Nifskope 2.0 Dev 7

(Obviously, you'll also need to download the mod)

  • After installing nifskope (you can find its tutorial on youtube), go to "File" (top left corner), open, and search for your skyrim special edition file. Then from there click "data", "grid", "armor", "daedric" and "evolved". There you will find the Nif file for the mod.

Once you open the file (in my case daedriccuirass_Evolved_1) you will get the armor.

  • Click on the green part of the armor (if you don't have visible textures, they should still be easy to spot since they are green against magenta, you can find a tutorial on how to turn textures on online), this will highlight the BSTriShape in the block list. Click on the highlighted BSTriShape, this will open a new bar.
  • Click BSEffectShaderProperty. You should now have a green bar visible down in the Block Details with the words "Emission Color" next to it.
  • Right-click on the green bar and it will give you three options: "Block", "Color" and "File Offset". Hover over the color and click to select.
  • This will display a standard color wheel where you can freely choose the color you want. After that, just click OK.
  • The color of the "Emission Color" column should now be the color you selected. If you hover your mouse over it, you can see the R, G, B, and A values of the selected color. Ignore the A value. R, G and B are the factors that determine the color of the light. Write them down and click on another green glowing section and repeat steps 2 and 3.
  • Now, instead of right-clicking, double-click on the green bar. It will give you an interface where you can record the R G B values directly to ensure that all the emitting parts are the same color (this is not necessary but is easy on the eyes)
  • For the ball on the armor, just click on its surface and select the BSLightingShaderProperty. The rest of the steps are the sa …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
