About this mod Machine translation

NOTE: The Special Edition port of this mod is currently not available to a large number of users. Note that this has nothing to do with CWRS itself, as the oldrim version never mentioned this issue. This question is purely related to SE. If you wish to enjoy CWRS, we recommend using the oldrim version until this issue is resolved.

Soldier life. . .

Here I'm adding a bit of excitement to Civil War, with the focus on playing a game that can basically be based on it, without any modal requirements or game-breaking changes. Start heading to where the enemies are active right from the start. Then, as you rise up in vanilla Civil War, you'll gain more responsibility, with the ability to recruit soldiers as the battles become more deadly. Then, when the civil war ends, you'll find that remnants of the enemy army remain and are still seeking vengeance to regain control of Skyrim.

I seek to not outdo or provide an alternative to any other CW related mods and appreciate the work these authors put in. No one needs to ask me "should I use this or CWO" because I'll tell them to use both. The goal here is to complement what vanilla does and what other imitators might do with Civil War, without completely taking away from it.

So the war I give you is never-ending, the war we all want to see from day one, the war we can surround the entire game with, and that's what inspires me to do it. I just did this for myself two years ago and someone told me I should make it public and, well, here we are. May it give you the same satisfaction of Civil War.

Dynamic scripting and fallout functionality

-RECURRING SIEGE BATTLES: Starting every 48 hours, cast members reflect your chosen side in one of the random Civil War forts around the world. Kill the enemy commander and get the trophy and some gold coins.

-MILITARY DUTIES Added in 2.0.1: A recurring event where you are tasked with investigating a fort involved in the Civil War and inspecting it with an officer there while keeping an eye out for possible enemy attack targets while you are there.

-RECRUITING SYSTEM: Once you reach the level of Snow Hammer or Tribune, you will have more responsibilities. Find wayward folk looking for a reason to join, or fight for powerful combat capabilities and build your own personal squad to complete most of the follower orders.

Use mod manager to automatically install CWRS.ESP and CWRS.BSA, or manually unzip and place into the Skyrim Data folder. No loose papers. To uninstall, you just need to delete these two files. The result will be no damage to your save files. The addon is automatic; there are no NPCs you need to talk to to start it. My programming records where you are in the civil war and provides events accordingly. You don't need to launch a new game to run CWRS. No matter where you are in the game, it will accept it and do what it's supposed to do. No other mods/utilities/dlc are required to run this addon, nor will they ever be. I want users to have access to it without overusing other mods and utilities.

Compatibility and troubleshooting

One of my goals is cohesion with other mods and vanilla itself; I work on the programming side of things in a non-intrusive way. Therefore, you should have no compatibility issues. But keep in mind that I can't speak to the overall compatibility of your mod list. Unfortunately, this requires telepathy. However, if I see enough concern about any specific mod that may have compatibility issues, I will investigate said mod, comm …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
