About this mod Machine translation
Removes a cutting torch from an NPC that has a cutting torch adjacent to another NPC. Remove the cutting torch from the mounted NPC. Removes flashlights from NPCs based on light levels. If the NPC is not in the dark, if they are not standing next to another NPC holding a torch, and if they are not on riding equipment (horses, etc.), then re-equip the torch in the dark.
If you are playing vanilla Skyrim, you don't need this mod.
However, if you're like me and use mods that add hundreds of NPCs to Skyrim, you absolutely need this mod.
You'll find that all of these populated areas are great for immersion until a storm comes or night falls.
Then all of a sudden all these dozens of NPCs are glowing with torches, even though they're standing next to each other.
Needless to say, this caused a kerfuffle, which comes with the infamous lighting restrictions/shadows Skyrim bug. They make my eyes bleed.
This problem bothered me until I finally came up with a solution. I introduce to you:
Torch Clearance
Removes a cutting torch from an NPC that has a cutting torch adjacent to another NPC.
Remove the cutting torch from the mounted NPC.
Removes flashlights from NPCs based on light levels.
If the NPC is not in the dark, if they are not standing next to another NPC holding a torch, and if they are not on riding equipment (horses, etc.), then re-equip the torch in the dark.
The use of torches in civilized buildings (houses, shops, hotels, etc.) is prohibited.
All buildings that are retrofitted will be covered if they use the appropriate keyword for the building (LocTypeDwelling).
If not, please contact the mod creator to add it.
Guards are unaffected by light and dark conditions as it is their duty to equip themselves with torches when they feel the need.
All other conditions also apply to guards.
The entourage is completely excluded.
Comes with MCM so you can enter your own illumination and distance values!
Known issues
If you switch internal/external units at the same time as an NPC pulling out a torch, the NPC will get stuck with the torch on/off, or extend its arm as if it were holding the torch without it. This is why followers have been excluded from this mod. It's easy to run into this problem, just don't enter/exit anything while the NPC with the torch does the same thing.

Removes torches from mounted NPCs.
Removes torches from NPCs based on light level.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
