Fills the gap between one-handed swords and broadswords, especially for heavy armor users like me. Craftable, can also be found in the flat list of loot/vendors!
Overview:
Bridge the gap between vanilla weapons and amazing Heavy Armory weapon models by adding longwords to the game.
Stats are somewhere between a sword and a broadsword; damage, weight, length, stagger, value, etc.
Add to gangster list like robbers, guards, vendors etc.
Long swords can also be made and changed, and of course have their own privileges. The materials required are a few components less than the word great.
Vanilla weapon retextures are fully compatible - as long as the meshes not edited have unique texture paths.
Long word value based on USSEP and WACCF values.
Currently all longswords are two-handed. The stats are pretty much the average of swords and great words, rounded up. This includes speed, damage and value. Stagger is an exact average, and critical hits follow the vanilla formula: half damage, rounded. The arrival distance is only 1 minute short of Dazi.
There should be a readme file with actual stats for each weapon.
Add-ons:
aMidianborn Skyforge Steel Weapon Patch: Provides a unique texture for the Skyforge Steel Longsword to other skysteel weapons.
Lorkhan Additional Zone: Simply place an Iron and Imperial Longsword somewhere in the Kingdom of Lorkhan. If you find them, you can keep them.
Require:
WACCF is used as a baseline for longsword statistics and is therefore a requirement. I mean, this is a pretty awesome mod and should be a must-have mod in every load order in my opinion.
The Skyforge Steel Longsword patch requires the installation of a Midianborn Skyforge Weapons mod. This is an Oldrim mod and must be converted. The sword mesh uses a Midian texture path.
The additional realm of Lorkhan requires the creative and dreamy realm of Lorkhan Alternative Start mod.
plan:
When I have more time in the future I will keep a to-do list in mind - in order of priority:
Fixed some ridiculous collisions on Daedric Longsword and Nordic Backsword
Change the silver longsword web - its crossbar looks silly compared to a "better shape weapon" sword...
Create a one-handed version that can be used alone or with the main mod. Thanks for your feedback and suggestions!
Create a version based on vanilla statistics so no WACCF is required. For those who don't have it and possibly an Xbox. ;)
Create a Dragon-Bling compatible dragonbone sword. ;)
Integrated magical version of the longsword to be found in the game.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
