Sooooo...how do the explosive bolts and enhanced crossbows visually differentiate themselves from the base version? They don't. This mod aims to correct it by adding visual distinction to them.
For explosive bolts, a bunch of daedric salt is sandwiched between two metal caps on the bolt shaft, and the fletching is color-coded so that the status of the quiver is known at a glance.
Additionally, Dwarven bolt arrows have a Dwarf emblem on them to make it easier to distinguish the quiver itself from the steel quiver.
For enhanced crossbows, certain components have been recolored to match the additional metal used to enhance them.
As with the regular vanilla crossbow, the limbs have been thinned out to look more realistic.
The steel crossbow has some whitening around the edges to make it look less hazy. It also now comes with 1K environmental masks (from 256)
Dwarf crossbow's diffuse texture darkened and has 2K environment mask (from 512)

2.Installation
===============
Install all assets and modules manually or using the mod manager of your choice. Activate and play. The modules of this mod are of type ESPFE and require an SSE version that supports ESL.
For mods that change projectile speed, additional compatibility patches may be required.

3.Compatibility
================
For mods that change projectile speed, additional compatibility patches may be required. I've used the compatibility patches for Arrows and Bolts Tweaks for myself. Some textures may overlay other backgrounds of crossbows or bolts.

Sooooo... How do the explosive bolts and the enhanced crossbows visually differentiate from the basic versions? They don't. This mod aims to rectify that by adding a visual distinction for them.
For the explosive bolts, a bundle of daedric salts is sandwiched between two metal caps on the bolt shaft, and the fletching is color-coded to tell what a quiver holds at a glance.
Additionally, the Dwarven bolt quivers have a dwarven badge on them to more readily differentiate the quiver itself from the steel quiver.
For the Enhanced Crossbows, certain components have been recolored to match the additional metal used in enhancing them.
For the vanilla crossbows in general, the limbs have been thinned to be more realistic-looking.
The Steel crossbow has had some whitening to the edging to make it look less cell-shadey. It also now sports a 1K envirocube mask (up from 256)
The dwarven crossbow has had its diffuse texture darkened, and has a 2K envirocube mask (up from 512)

- COMPATIBILITY
================
Additional compatibility patches may be needed for mods that alter projectile speeds. I have made a compatibility patch for Arrows and Bolts Tweaks for my own use. Some textures may overwrite with other retextures of the crossbows or bolts.

v1:
Initial Skyrim SE Release.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
