Lets you craft a dark version of Bonemold Armor, which you can find in the Dragonborn DLC. Just use some charcoal stain and invert and throw it back into the forge!

1175/5000About:

Hello, I recently started a new game and picked up some Bonemold Armor. What bothers me is the color.

That's why I decided to do this.

How to make:

Get some charcoal.

Throw the normal armor in the forge to heat it up a bit, then smear it with some charcoal.

All different types of Bonemold Armor are covered!

Where to find charcoal:

coin. Good question. Guess what? Craft it at the smelter. I've made it this far and you can make charcoal from firewood at any smelter. Makes sense, right?

To remove dye from armor:

Just throw the armor back into the forge and you can wipe it off. Immersive...reasons for some coughs.

Where to find armor:

Go to Solsheim and play a defender on the knee. They will eventually fall unconscious and you will be able to strip them of their belongings. This is how I got my setup. Or not. But imagine the look on their faces and then wake up. W E A K.

Install:

Just use NMM or install manually.

compatibility:

Standalone module. Should be compatible with anything.

It'll also be nice if you're running body mesh mods, as it only uses vanilla models but swaps textures. ——————————————————————————————————————————

Throw the normal Armor in the Forge to heat it up a little and then scribble over it with some Charcoal.

Oof. Good question. Guess what? Craft it at a Smelter. I've made it so that you can craft Charcoal from Firewood at any Smelter. Makes sense, right?

Removing Dye from Armor:

Just toss the Armor back into the Forge and you'll be able to scrub it off. For some cough immersive... reason.

Where to find the Armor:

Travel over to Solstheim and punch a guard in the knee. They'll eventually become unconscious and you'll be able to strip them of their belongings. That's how I got my set. Or not. But just imagine the look on their faces afterwards, waking up. W E A K.

Installation:

Just use NMM or install manually.

Compatibility:

Standalone mod. Should be compatible with anything.

If you're running body mesh mods, it'll be fine as well since this only uses the vanilla models but swaps the textures.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
