The toughest inventory management model yet. With Hardcore Capacity, you're limited to the smallest set of gear imaginable, allowing you to carry only a few weapons, a dozen potions, and a horrendous amount of other items.

Overview

To date, there has not been a stable capacity model that actually represents real life to some extent. Even my own realistic model of my abilities is completely lifelike in terms of the laws of physics. The problem is that you carry different items in different ways; weapons on your back, arrows in your quiver, septims in your coin purse, and other things in satchels and backpacks. This mod takes all of this into account.

With this model, your strength is no longer tied to your carrying capacity. Your strength will determine how much weight you can carry before becoming overburdened, but how many items you can carry before becoming overburdened is determined solely by the MCM.

You can only carry so much before your capacity becomes too large:

2 major weapons: battle axe, war hammer, great sword, staff, bow and arrow

4 medium weapons: Swords, Hammers, Waraxes, Crossbows

6 small arms: dagger

2 shields

50 arrows

25 bolts

15 potions or poisons

250 coins

5 Bulky Items: Cuirasses or Misc items that weigh more than 3 pieces

Either

15 Medium items: Clothing items, gauntlets, boots, helmets, food weighing more than 1 unit, scrolls, books, or other items weighing more than 1 unit

Either

45 Small items: jewelry or accessories, food weighing less than 1 unit, ingredients weighing more than 1 unit, or miscellaneous items weighing more than 0.5 units

Either

135 Small Items: Ingredients weighing less than 1 unit, and any remaining non-weight items

Please note that large, medium, small and tiny items share capacity space, so if you bring 5 large items and 1 small item you will exceed capacity. Plus, if you wear a support backpack, your coin capacity is doubled for large, medium, small and small items. See the compatibility section.

If you exceed these limits, you can still run, but you won't be able to use your weapons or spells because you'll be carrying the extra stuff on your arms. So, you can still bring tons of treasure from the dungeon, but you'd better make sure everything in the dungeon is dead first, or have a bodyguard on hand.

Speaking of fans, they are supported as well. If the minions following you exceed their capabilities, they will be unable to fight and will flee during combat. So unless you don't plan on using them as bodyguards, you won't be able to use them as pack mules.

Starting with version 1.1, you can disable Coin, Potion and Ammo tracking. This allows you to carry an unlimited amount of them, in case you decide that limiting these items is too extreme.

Use CurrentFollowerFaction to detect followers. Therefore, fans using their own systems can still be exploited.

I mentioned the supported backpack. Currently, backpacks from Wet and Cold and Campfire are accepted and will double your item and coin capacity. You can add support for other backpacks yourself by adding it to the _HC_ListBackpacks FormList using a patch made by TES5edit.

Additionally, coins added by Coin Replacer Redux are recognized as coins.

Install

Install via your favorite Mod Manager, or place the files into the Data folder if you're that big of a masochist.

When uninstalling or updating, be sure to disable the mod via MCM first and make a clean save.

Overview

Up until now, there hasn't been a stable capacity mod that actually represents real-life to some degree. Even my own Realistic Capacity mod is far to lenient on the laws of physics to be completely life-like. The issue is that you carry different items differently; weapons on your back, arrows in a quiver, septims in a coin purse, and everything else in satchels and backpacks. This mod takes all of that into consideration.

With this mod, your strength is no longer connected to your carrying capaci …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
