About this mod Machine translation
Simple mods delay progression in The Companions questline to allow the Dragonborn to become a regular, full-fledged member before actually becoming part of The Circle or even the Harbinger.
I always felt that Dragonborn's career in The Companions was too vertical, so I created this mod for myself and finally decided to share it with this fantastic community.
Do you feel the same way? Roleplaying a character who is still a member of the Companion, but isn't a werewolf or even their leader?
Then this mod is for you!
Inspired by the "Not So Fast" collection.
What it does in the game:
You now have to do more Fallout quests (Animal Extermination, Hired Muscle, Trouble in Skyrim, etc.) in order to get through the entire Companions questline. Earn your identity!
Very focused on the first part, being a regular member rather than part of The Circle, reserved for leaders only.
How exactly is it done:
- No changes until the end of Take Up Arms, so you'll prove you're just as worthy as vanilla.
- You must now do 3 Fallout missions instead of 1 before being asked to speak to Skjor to obtain a Wuuthrad fragment (Proof of Honor).
- Do another 6 Fallout missions (vanilla: 1) and you will be sent to Gallows Rock by Aela (Silver Hand) and become a member of The Circle/a Werewolf as a result.
- Blood's Honor will finally trigger after doing 3 Radiant missions instead of 2. I didn't change any other requirements, so make sure at least one of them is given by Aela.
- Continue telling stories like vanilla and become a highly regarded pioneer.
Install:
Make sure to install before starting Take Up Arms.
uninstall:
Not tested, but most likely safe at all times. Definitely before taking up arms and honor after blood.
Compatibility:
Anything that doesn't change the literal meaning of the same task.
Loading order:
It doesn't matter. If in doubt, let LOOT decide.
Can be merged into Bashed Patch.
Permissions:
Feel free to do whatever you want.

What it does in game:

Focusing very much on the first part with you as a regular member and not being part of The Circle, which is only reserved for the leaders.
How exactly does it do that:
- No change until the end of Take up Arms, so you will prove you are worthy just like in vanilla.
- Before being asked to talk to Skjor to get the Wuuthrad fragment (Proving Honor), you will now have to do 3 radiant quests instead of 1.
- Do another 6 radiant quests (Vanilla: 1) and only then you will be sent to Gallows Rock by Aela (The Silver Hand) and in its outcome become a member of The Circle / a Werewolf.
- Blood's Honor will finally trigger after doing 3 radiant quests instead of 2. I did not alter any other requirements, so make sure at least one of those is given by Aela.
- Continue the story just like in vanilla and become a highly esteemed Harbinger.
Installation:
Make sure to install before starting Take up Arms.
Uninstallation:
Not tested, but most probably safe anytime. Definitely before Take up Arms and after Blood's Honor.
Compatibilty:
Anything that doesn't alter literally the same quests.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
