About this mod Machine translation

This adds approximately 120 lines of new (fully voiced) dialogue to the companions. It comes with new dialogue options, new miscellaneous dialogue, and new scenes, as well as some enhancements to more underused characters. I've been focusing on keeping it as close to vanilla as possible without straying too far from the given personality.

The road to Chineseization:

Companions are my favorite faction in the game. This is the first one you encounter, and as someone who primarily plays the Warrior type, it's a natural choice. However, it does get a bit stale, and after a few visits to Jorrvaskr, you kind of stop caring. This model may not completely solve the problem, but at least it makes an attempt. It makes the experience a little fresher by adding more conversation options, new conversations from different companions, and fleshing out some of them.

One thing I decided to spend a lot of time doing was using a very underutilized Skjor. He died young, but his death didn't matter to you because you never got to know him. The mod only adds a few new dialogue options for Skjor, and you can ask him for some advice every once in a while, and ask him to tell a story from the Great War. The mod also plans to flesh out companion members like Ria by adding more dialogue and scenes for her.

This isn't a complete overhaul of the factions themselves, but it's perfect for any game where you want a more rounded companion experience.

feature

  • Full voice dialogue, using a mix of ElevenLabs AI, normal dialogue and splicing editing.
  • Added new dialogue options to companions’ main quests.

-Tell Ella that if the giant dies, you won't make it in time.

-Tell Aela that you already know who the companion is (skip the "An outsider, huh?" dialogue)

-Ask the Secret Society members where to find Kodlak. (This way you don't have to rely on task markers all the time)

-Ask Skjor if he has any cool stories about big battles?

-Ask Skjor what advice he has for you (you can ask once a day, there are 6 available suggestions)

  • Added 7 new scenes between companions
  • Aela & Ria

-Farkash & Vilkas

  • Ria & Torvar

-Njada and Attis

  • Rhea and Njada

-Ella & Farkash

-Skjol&Vilkas

  • Added new miscellaneous dialogue to various companion members.
  • Njada will have more misc dialogue with her usual attitude.
  • Ria will have more random dialogue to counteract her two repetitive lines.

-Torval will have some new dialogue regarding mead and combat.

Athius will have some new dialogue.

-Vilkas, Farkash and Ayla have some new miscellaneous dialogue, but not as much as the smaller companions.

-Although not related to dialogue, this mod fixes an issue with the companion giving you the quest standing next to the door. This mod fixes this issue so that the scene plays more naturally.

Some of the dialogue will be very obvious-AI quality, but that's mostly due to the fact that their voices are difficult to replicate. Mainly Torvald and Farkash, so they have slightly less dialogue.

live in harmony

-This mod does not edit anything vanilla, it only adds stuff (dialogue) to the game. There should be no conflict with anything that touches your companions.

-There are also some other modes that allow companions to stop waiting after completing a mission (companions are not Hachiko & come at your own pace). These should not cause any conflicts.

The USSEP compatible version of the file is in the main file.

For those wondering which mods can be seen in the screenshots:

  • Various amazing Leerson overhauls
  • Cabbage (can be found on the Skyrim guild discord)
  • Convenient dialogue with Nordic UI options
  • Nordic UI comes with a bunch of patches.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
