As someone who really enjoyed playing the game with Arthmoor's Ars Metallica in loadout order, and thought melting weapons should have been a base feature and part of the base game, I was really shocked to find that I was able to melt vanilla weapons and armor (thanks to his mod), but not the ones added by custom armor or weapon packs.
There is a mod that lets you melt all metal equipment under the Oldrim sun, but it requires SKSE, so I don't expect to see it on SSE in the near future.
Over time I have made several mods for my own personal use that allow me to break down the equipment added by some of the larger weapon packs on SSE. I thought others might be similarly interested in this feature and, with permission, am now uploading the Meltdown mod for the InsanitySorrow weapon pack.
As its name suggests, the mod's primary function is to allow players to melt down all weapons added to the InsanitySorrow weapon pack collection and retrieve many ingots to forge those weapons. This does not apply to any unique weapons added by ISWP. Currently, only Umbra falls into this category.
This mod only adds custom crafting recipes, so it should be compatible with everything, but the InsanitySorrow Weapon Pack (version 1.7) is required for this mod to fully work.
First, you must download and install the InsanitySorrow weapon pack, otherwise, this mod will not work.
Then, like most other mods, download and activate this mod on NMM/Mod Organizer/Mod Manager of your choice.
This mod has some overrides to its main file - they fixed the odd spacing in 3 weapon names and added a keyword to another weapon name. If this kind of thing doesn't bother you, you can choose not to override it without compromising the core functionality of my plugin.
If there are any issues that are not advertised, and/or you encounter any problems, please let me know and I will try to resolve them as quickly as possible.
Other than potential bugfixes, I have no plans for updates to this mod. However, I wish to upload the last Meltdown mod for Lore Weapon Expansion but am waiting for permission from InsanitySorrow. No ETA.
InsanitySorrow is used to create all the original meshes and textures (and mods) that make up the InsanitySorrow weapon pack.
calthrop accommodates so many of InsanitySorrow's weapons under one roof, ported them to Special Edition, and allowed me to upload this add-on.
xEdit used by ElminsterAU and the SSEEdit team was used to create this mod.
Arthmoor created Ars Metallica, which prompted me to make this mod in the first place.

For posterity's sake, since I play SE exclusively now, I have no intention of porting my mods to Oldrim, but if anyone wants to, please ask my permission. This doesn't work with my Meltdown mods because they require a Master file that I don't own.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
