About this mod Machine translation

This mod is in beta (read description) - Cliff Creepers are reptiles born in Morrowind that first appeared on ESO. They are cousins to cliff racing and cliff darts. Unlike them, they cannot fly, and they attack the ground with their sharp teeth, long tails, and poisonous acid they spit at you.

I don't usually release mods during the testing phase, but in this case it was necessary. The Cliff Reaver uses a custom modified dragon skeleton. Well, most of you in this community have known for a long time that dragon animations and skeletons (modified or not) are very buggy and very difficult to deal with. Changing the size of the dragon without causing a complete mess when the dragon is walking is always impossible, this is because you can't find the baby dragon, mods work well.

So it's not possible to change the size of the dragon on CreationKit without creating problems, etc. I modified the size directly on the custom frame, but that also created an obvious problem. If I increase the size it works fine, but if I decrease it the model will be walking on air and the china will be far beyond the "land mark".

I found another way to do this on the bone, changing the bone's root directly, and now it works fine. The model didn't mess up on the ground, he walked fine. Sure, sometimes you'll find some clipping, but that's because the dragon's skeleton is as buggy as hell, and also about the same size as an average dragon.

Now the problem is that when you change the size on the CK or on the bone, you also change the size of the collision box, but when you do it on the bone root, the size of the collision box doesn't change with the model, so I changed it manually but didn't get a better result. I managed to change it a lot, but not completely, so, the collision box is a bit bigger for the model.

This leads to the fact that sometimes you can't fully cross the steps on the cliff (arrows and magic spikes can sometimes float above the model), and sometimes you can get stuck close to the Strider when you're fully close, but you can try running in the other direction. This does not always happen, but it can happen.

Still, all works well and in the end, a dragon-like creature with small size and no animation issues, everything is fine as you can see in the video, the only problem is that sometimes you need to close your eyes to the collision issues. Is that true or there are no cliff swimmers.

I'm releasing the beta model to ask for someone who might know how to adjust the hitbox so that it fits the model perfectly. If you know how to do it, go ahead and send me a skeleton and adjust the collision box. I'm hoping to find someone who can do this as this thing on hitboxes is something I don't know about. Your name will of course appear on the credits and I thank you in advance.

But nonetheless, if you just want to give all my other ones a try, keep working as you can see in the video and is one of the mods I use regularly, but be aware that the Cliff Reaver has collision issues and you will sometimes get stuck when fighting him at close range.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
