About this mod Machine translation
Riften has been renovated to truly reflect its commercial history as well as that of the guilds, with treasures, traps, bolt holes and walkways stretching to a similar height to the Thieves' Guild City. It's that simple, now all you need to do is watch the video, evaluate the images, and follow the mod's loadout order and technical advice if you choose to use it.
*Please note that this mod is based on Mathy's work. I highly recommend using his mod. The exception is his "Medieval Lantern", which needs to be patched. I also recommend loading the mod Noble Skyrim before working on Mathy.
New NPC male followers can be married if desired.
New storage boxes hidden behind secret doors.
New little abode for rest and some extra storage, hidden of course.
New traps can kill low level players.
New treasure stolen by Mercer Frey. Loot his riches hidden high in the city.
Brand new city design brings an immersive and interesting gaming experience.
New and minor changes to Bee & Bard. Access to the roof is via two new entrances.
This mod is not compatible with mods that take place in any other city. New game starts - don't uninstall midgame - followers can't follow you on rooftops.
"Alternate Startup" must be higher than this mod in your load order.
This is a standalone mod. But is designed for the TPOS 2 series of add-on mods that I made to complement Skyrim 2 and the Future Missions release of TPOS 3 at the end of 2020.
If you are using TPOS 2, follow this loading sequence:
thepeopleofskyrim (LO part location if used)
Alternate Startup Module (by Arthmoor here)
tpos_complete02_RTCWG (full version LO location if used)
tpos_Riften_Exspan01.esp (this Mod)
A few small changes have occurred since this video was made.
The file has no files, just a few resource files. Keep this file low in the load order and do not let anything overwrite this file.
For low end PC users you may experience lag as this looked larger than the normal version to me. However, I made videos and images with large textures in the city, all Mathys worked fine, and the ENB framerate dropped below 37 fps in the city.
Therefore, most users should not have any performance issues. I have 6 GB CPU and 15 GB RAM. I will be releasing this mod for XB users, so if some of you have small rigs I will post the modified XB version here as an alternative for smaller machines.
Please support my work.

It is that simple, and all you need to do now, is watch the video, take stock of the images and follow the load order and technical advice for this mod if you choose to use it.
*Please Note this mod has been made with Mathy's work in mind. I highly recommend you use his mods. The exception to this is his Medieval Lanterns as a patch is required. I also recommend A Noble Skyrim loading that mod first before Mathy's work.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
