About this mod Machine translation

Added carriage stops to Skyrim's villages and several other key locations. The vanilla shipping system will not be changed in any way. These brackets were created from the ground up as a system to work with the vanilla bracket system.

Skyr Stops Of Skyrim adds places where carriages can be picked up in secondary locations not covered by the vanilla transport system. All vanilla villages have a carriage stop, as well as places such as Hearthfire House, Fort Dawnguard, Castle Volkihar, and more.

The goal of this model is to provide more bay positions in an immersive and low-impact manner. The vanilla shipping system will not be changed in any way. These brackets were created from the ground up as a system to work with the vanilla bracket system. It uses a vanilla grid and only requires a single script to work. This script only runs when the active carriage is stopped.

Depending on the destination and the driver's mood, the ride costs between 20 and 40 gold. This amount represents the fact that the player is simply waiting for a carriage to pass by and ride with a driver on the way to a location. It makes sense to me that when the driver delivers the passenger and returns to the original location, the compartment is a lot empty and the driver is probably happy to get an unprofitable passenger for the trip.

The system includes a workbench, a light/warm fire pit and a destination menu. You click on the workbench to activate the menu, select your destination, and the screen fades to black as you hear the approaching carriage. There are no actual carriages at this location. This should come as a relief to anyone who's tried adding actual carriages to locations, as they're a gaping hole in a broken dream.

A logical location is selected as the stop. They are mainly located on roads near destinations. The icon on the map that indicates the location of the stop is labeled "Carriage Stop."

IMPORTANT: If docked near a vanilla transport location (Whiterun, Solititude, etc.), any location covered by the vanilla bay will not be reflected in the Transport Stops menu. You will need to walk to the Vanilla Carriage to travel to these destinations. Stops are there to get you to places the vanilla wagon doesn't go.

The location of Windstad Manor (Labeled Windstad) has no nearby roads, so there is no actual carriage stop here. This is just a destination. If you want to travel from this location, you need to build a house and purchase a Hearthfire Carriage. It's not ideal but I don't want to leave Windstad players unable to get home.

Castle Volkihar: The stop is at nearby Thalmor Fort. Those elves who call themselves elves demand it. Bonus points for killing them while waiting for your carriage.

Fort Dawnguard: Stops are only available after critical mission points. This is about 3 quests about dawnguard story.

High Hrothgar: It can only be used after critical mission points.

Object clipping

If you have mods that add plants/trees/rocks/whatever and those items clip to the carriage stop, learn to use the disable command to get rid of the plants/trees/rocks/etc. I don't use any mods that add trees/plants (SFO, etc.) so I don't have a reasonable way to accommodate them. I did use the larger tree without any clipping issues. I also use a mod that puts fences and stuff on the road, I don't have any clipping either. Your results may vary if grass clips cross the model. Welcome to Skyrim. Grass clips go through a lot of stuff. Learn to love it.

Navmeshes

There are no navmeshes changed in this mod. I placed the baffle cubes around the baffles set up by NAVCUT, which prevents NPCs from hitting …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
