Complete overhaul of candlelight. Say goodbye to the most annoying blue light ever!

Candlelight now has an (almost) infinite duration and can be toggled (no scripting required). Indoors, it will emit a warm light like a flashlight. The radius is larger than in vanilla, but not too large to maintain that "dark scary dungeon" feel (assuming you have a mod that darkens the dungeon). On the outside, the light is more greenish-blue (which is the best color I could find), and has a larger radius to light up those dark, spooky nights (assuming you have a mod that darkens the night). Throw it away again to eliminate it. Eliminating candlelight costs no magicka and is silent. Of course, no annoying bright balls are found now.

Some users said they wanted to keep the ball (I never understood why), so there is now a ball version. But fucking balls.

Candlelight now has (almost) infinite duration, and is toggleable (no scripts needed). On interiors, it will give a nice, warm light akin to that of a torch. The radius is bigger than in vanilla but not too big, to keep that 'dark scary dungeon" feeling (assuming you have mods that darken the dungeons). On exteriors, the light is more green-bluish (this was the best color I could find) and the radius is even bigger to illuminate those dark, terrifying nights (assuming you have mods that darken the nights). Casti it again to dispel it. Dispelling your candlelight won't cost any magicka and is silent. And of course, no ANNOYING BRIGHT BALL is to be found now.

A few users said they wanted to keep the ball (I'll never understand why) so there's a version with the ball now. But FUCK THE BALL.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
