describe
What can BSArch do? Pack, unzip and display archive information. When packaging, it will automatically set flags based on future archived content.
Supported games: Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Skyrim Special Edition, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4. How do .bat files work?
You use it, it sends a command to the console, and if everything is OK, it runs BSArch and tells it to do something. Wiki on what is a bat file.
how to do
Preparation
Download BSArch.
Download this module.
Create a folder anywhere with any name (I'll call it the "parent folder").
Place bsarch.exe and all 5 .bats in the parent folder.
Filling
Create a folder package in the parent folder.
Pack the files for archiving (so the relative path should be something like "parent folder\pack\textures", "parent folder\pack\scripts", etc.).
Rename your parent folder according to the name of the archive.
Acceptable names are: tes3/tes4/tes5/fo3/fnv/sse/fo4/fo4dds. Explanation under spoilers:
Spoilers: Show
Double-click "pack.bat". BSArch will tell you when the job is complete.
Before starting a new package: Remove files from package, delete/rename new.bsa.
Unboxing
Place the archive in the parent folder. There should only be one archive.
Double-click "unpack.bat".
Get file information
Place the archive in the parent folder. There should only be one archive.
Double-click "info.bat"/"info-list.bat"/"info-dump.bat".
What information you will get:
info.bat: format, version, file number, archive and file flags
info -list.bat: All of the above plus a list of files and their relative paths
INFO-dump.bat: All of the above plus size/hash of archive contents
Things to note
pack.bat does not use the parameters "-af:value", "-ff:value", "-z", "-share" because they are needed in rare cases and would overcomplicate bat.
What these parameters are and how to use them - check out BSArch's page.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
