About this mod Machine translation
Implementing a simple brute force method to fix Skyrim's harvest respawn bug.
Non-SE version
These files should actually work in original Skyrim.
Require
Requires SKSE64:
usage
Harvest plants as usual.
Additional Information
Skyrim has an annoying bug where harvested plants don't respawn when loading a save game.
The following mod page details this:
Flora Respawn Fix by bluedanieru
Phytoremediation by wiseman303 (OG Skyrim only?)
wiseman303 wrote a technical details article explaining in more detail how these fixes work.
Brutal Flora Harvest Fix takes a different approach - attaching a script "hook" to an ObjectReference.
The modified ObjectReference script inserts a single function call into each of the following events:
OnActivate - stores our last harvest time (to a new float value).
OnCellAttach - Fix any reference harvested more than 3 days ago.
The inserted call first checks SKSE's native IsHarvested function to see if any work is required.
This has some advantages:
It is universally compatible with any harvestable object in the game, vanilla or modded.
It can retroactively existing saves and can be safely uninstalled at any time.
It is lightweight and any referenced OnCellAttach hook will only fire once per load save.
It's very friendly since it doesn't register any references to any other events.
Like other harvest repairs, it decouples harvest regeneration from cell reset.
There are also some disadvantages:
It only works after the cell has changed (due to the nature of the OnCellAttach event).
It adds (negligible?) scripting overhead to otherwise empty hook events in ObjectReference.
If SKSE's ObjectReference.pex script has changed (it hasn't existed for years), it will need to be updated.
The OnCellAttach hook may fail on references using null form, dumping errors to the Papyrus log.
(This seems harmless since the default OnCellAttach event will be null anyway)
In some rare cases, updating a referenced mesh may be missed (see script source).
It's still not as clean as the native SKSE plugin...
The regeneration time (defined as 3 days) can be changed by editing foxHarvestFix.psc and recompiling the script.
(Sorry, it's not easy! Trying to support adjusting this in-game feels a bit too complex)
compatibility
Should be compatible with anything that does not replace SKSE's ObjectReference.pex script.
Uninstall steps
Just replace the following with SKSE's original file:
data\script\objectreference.pex
Data\Scripts\Sources\ObjectReference.psc
and delete the following:
data\scripts\foxHarvestFix.pex
data\scripts\sources\foxHarvestFix.psc
Safely uninstall from save at any time; save clearing not required.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
